There were plenty to see from an Indiana perspective and we got a full look into those teams and players. Today, we are diving into new faces. Guys we haven’t seen before. Here are the ones we are going to put on our list.
Harold Woods – 6’3 SG 2021 – Hammond (IN) / Indiana Ice 2021
Harold is a long, strong wing that has some handles and breakdown ability. He’s so good at times defensively when he can get into people because he can matchup well on guards but owns the size advantage. Have seen him shoot a little bit and he has some touch but seemed more like a dribble-drive guy.
Alex Covey – 6’6 PF 2022 – Tri-West (IN) / Indiana Elite Central 2022
Covey is a big forward with some strength and skill already. Much more physically developed than others his age and he does well to take advantage of that. Thought he was best when he was near the rim. Can back his man down and be tough on the block.
Richard Brooks – 6’3 SF 2022 – Penn (IN) / Indiana Elite Central 2022
Brooks is a big wing with strength and some touch. He did most of his work as a high-post creator with his passing and then looking to step out and shoot. Liked his ability to play inside because he’s so mobile and long that he is very difficult to get in front of. That in turn could make him a high-end rebounder down the line even though his long term position might be more of a wing.
Kaden Stanton – 5’11 PG 2022 – New Albany (IN) / Indiana Elite Central 2022
Stanton is a really tough, physical guard that loves to play quick and aggressive. Isn’t tall but has a ton of strength and seems to use it to the best of his abilities early on. Tone setter right now and should be a guy that commands the team. Want to see how his offense develops but came away impressed early.
Jake Reichard – 6’2 SG 2021 – Plymouth (IN) / MBA Select 2021
Jake is a big guard with wide shoulders and some length. He’s playing on the ball a ton but doesn’t yet have the speed to make a ton of plays. He’s best as a shooter from deep that can really create along the wing. Showed he could dribble into the free throw area and pull-up off a screen. Didn’t have his touch all game but you could see where he can excel pretty easily.
Dwight Williams – 6’0 PG 2022 – South Bend Adams (IN) / MBA Select 2022
Williams is a long, rangy guard who has some upside. Liked his defensive ability and has some quick feet and length to help on guards. Handles are solid but will need some refinement to stay on the point. However, with his size and development, could be an interesting guard down the road.
Jackson Dawson – 6’5 PF 2022 – Warsaw (IN) / MBA Select 2022
Jackson is a tall and long forward. Kind of gangly right now but looks like he’s going to be good and grow into his body well. All of 6’5 now, could see him adding a handful more inches and filling out quickly. He’s really mobile, agile and skilled with the ball. Plays a little all over the place because he can come out and defend on the perimeter and has the length to defend posts at this age. His release on his shot is a little too much and will have to pare it down but still showed he can make it.
Blake Jacobs – 6’4 C 2022 – Northridge (IN) / MBA Select 2022
Blake is a big post who is a tick on the shorter sized right now but should still grow. He’s got decent footwork and can create on the low block. Touch wasn’t as on in this game as you would want but he made plays to get off good shots. He’s got a strong lower half without giving up speed or mobility and should be well versed in post play by the time he’s a senior.
