The 16s team is not a team that has plenty of underclass standouts as it a comprised of players that went to schools that had talented upperclassmen that shined but is a team that when it all comes together can surprise teams as they are built to play the right way. Two players to keep an eye on is Mather and Lamb. Mather is a guard that got a bit of time on one of the best teams in the state. Mather gives you a bit of everything (scoring, rebounds and assists) and should be a standout on this team. Lamb is a player that is capable of scoring and remains aggressive throughout the game. This team is led by their guard play and I am looking for Lamb as the guy to emerge as the one to lead this team and handle on-ball duties.

When taking a look at this 17U team the main thing that stands out is balance. They have great guard play, solid big men inside and X-factors that can alter the game in various ways. Arnold is their best ball handler and he is a true point guard that sees the floor. He hits the open man with flashy passes but is a natural leader that is able to attack mismatches. He has a good feel for the game and is a high IQ player that the game slows down for. 5280 Hoops will go as far as he allows them to and I expect a big summer from him. Their go to scorer will be underclassmen Baldwin who is capable of putting up big numbers and is challenging himself. He is a confident scorer that is dangerous in the open court. He can knock down shots, penetrate the lanes and either finish with an easy layup or dunk. Their big man standout is Marold who has immense strength. He is an interior presence who offensively has soft touch around the rim but is a bruiser who rebounds well. Defensively he patrols the paint and does not allow players to get comfortable.

Two X-factors to keep an eye on is Bowen and Sanders. Bowen is a skilled wing who excels defensively. He plays the passing lanes well and a floor spacer with range. He is able to mix it up and get inside to cause damage as well. Sanders is a scrappy guard that gets after it. He pushes you defensively and is a playmaker offensively with the ball in his hands. He is a high energy prospect that only makes this team better.

Others to watch: Franquemont, Williams
