Caleb Grimes Interested in D2 Options
Unsigned senior Caleb Grimes is still hunting a college home.
Caleb worked out with Vol State.
Kentucky Wesleyan hosted him for a workout.
Caleb Grimes accomplished plenty in the last ten months.
Prior to the 2018-2019 season, Caleb earned his way into the inaugural PrepHoopsTN Fall Combine All-Star Game. In fact, he was the 13th best player in the building. He fought his into the East Nashville starting lineup. After barely playing in 2017-2018 for East Nashville High School behind seniors Gene Holmes (Columbia State Community College) and Jayden Lockett (Columbia State Community College), Caleb ascended to starting guard for a surprisingly strong Class AA unit. Taras Carter and Isaiah Jones joined Grimes in the backcourt. Together they advanced all the way to the Class AA State Tournament, the semifinals to be specific.
Caleb Grimes earned All-Tournament Team honors. He also was named BCAT All-Star. Now, he is scouring his college options.
“Nothing scheduled this week, waiting to hear back from Bryan college, Lyon College and Fisk,” shared Caleb’s father Reggie Grimes Sr. “Hope to hear something soon, really hoping for Fisk, but (Head Coach Kenny) Anderson is on the mend from stroke.”
Kenny Anderson finished his first season with Fisk University with a 8-17 record. Unfortunately, Coach Anderson suffered a stroke shortly after the season. Geographically, Fisk is a wonderful option for Caleb and his family. Fisk is located in Nashville, Tennessee.

“We took a visit to Kentucky Wesleyan on March 31 that went well, but afterwards the coaches revealed they signed 14 players for the start of this past season so there really wasn’t any space but was a good workout.”
Caleb Grimes (full eval) also heard from Wooster College.
“Wooster College has reached out as well,” said Mr. Grimes Sr. Wooster is a high-academic institution in Ohio.
Open to Division II, NAIA, or the perfect DIII school Caleb Grimes remains unsigned and looking.
