“Spring AAU has been, and always will be an amazing experience for me,” Kade said about playing with ECI who is number one in the PHD 16U rankings. “It is eye opening seeing all the talent across the nation playing and that pushes me to get better.”
ECI has played in their own event, they have played in two SPTS tournaments, in the Comets Shootout, and the Ny2La Spring Extravaganza. The 16U club gas impressed every weekend against some of the better talent in the Midwest.
Along the way Amundson has been able to test himself against the best. From there he’s understanding what he needs to do going forward.
“For me I want to focus on my ball handling and pull up jump shots, but my main focus this summer will be in the weight room,” Kade said.
With Leingang, Deeney, Geiger, Olson, Holen, Leidholm, and others graduating only Lucas Mayer and Josh Sipes return with much experience from last year. Amundson and others are now in charge of carrying things forward for the Patriots.
“I would say being a part of the varsity team and enjoying the season with the great group of seniors that we had was a great experience.,” said Amundson.
“I feel we have a great chance to do something special this year. In order for us to do that we need to come together and hold each other accountable and help each other. If we do that we will be 10 times a better team that what we are.”
Kade is thinking summer and junior year, but wants to play college hoops down the line.
“I get asked that a lot and my response is always the same. I am not sure where I want to go or what I’m going to do, but I want to play college basketball.”
