From the start, you knew the length of Blackhawk Christian was going to be trouble for Barr-Reeve. Caleb Furst proved that to be true as he had a pair of blocks on Keegan O’Neill in the first four minutes or so. But even guys like Zane Burke and Frankie Davidson were able to join in the block party later in the game.
Blackhawk Christian showed their high-powered offense all game long, playing much more up and down and any miss that Barr-Reeve had, they were pushing out in transition and getting a ton of points that way. Barr-Reeve tried early to battle in the paint, whether by posting up or driving to pads rim, but neither were going well.
In the second half, Barr-Reeve came out and tried to shoot the ball more but Blackhawk continue their assault and got up by more than 23 points. They continued to make a couple runs, cutting it down to 14 but it never was really close in the second half.
As a result of the win, Blackhawk Christian will now move up to 2A next season due to the Success Factor. They also return guys like Caleb Furst and Zane Burke and those two alone will be really good so a run in 2A isn’t so far fetched.
For Barr-Reeve, they will be in 1A again next year and return quite a few pieces like Keegan O’Neill and Brycen Graber. They always have a ton of talent and look like they will be set to make another run back. Neither team is losing many pieces. Big ones, but they both should be able to make a run back.
