Overview:
For the first time, Silver Creek is making an appearance here in the State Finals. They have never before had a team as good as they one they have now but things don’t get easier, they get harder as they will face last year’s 3A Champion in Culver Academies.
Culver has had some ups and downs in the early part of the year as they dropped a couple games trying to maximize their exposure and composure. They did that and have now since been on a tear. They look great right now but their path has been just a tick easier than Silver Creek’s.
For the Dragons of Silver Creek, their best talents are just sophomores in Kooper Jacobi and Trey Kaufman. But, they provide size and post presence along with the ability to stretch and shoot the ball. That is a problem for most teams in 3A as they can provide a presence around the basket. Culver won’t kill you with their shooting but they will be able to get to the rim and how that battle ensues will be interesting.
Another thing to watch is how Silver Creek is able to handle a team that seems more comfortable playing small ball but also rebound as a high rate. Will they be able to push and keep their offense humming?
Prediction: Culver Academies 61, Silver Creek 56
