Vashon came out on top of this competitive game 79-69. Here is a look at the top five performances from last night’s game. This is based on what happened last night.
*Mario McKinney (Vashon ’19) – The 6’2″ University of Missouri recruit was sensational last night in leading the Wolverines with a game-high 28 points. He started off the game with three slashing drives to the basket for acrobatic layups. In the first minutes of the second half, Mario showcased his electrifying athleticism with three highlight reel dunks. The first came on a coast-to-coast tomahawk dunk, the second was on an alley-oop and the third was on a two-handed tip dunk.
*Caleb Love (CBC ’20) – The highly touted 6’3′ junior guard enjoyed an excellent all-around performance with 22 points, six rebounds and three assists to lead the Cadets. He did a good job of attacking the basket and getting into the lane for his potent mid-range jump shot. He also made a number of solid defensive plays with his quick hands.
*Josh Wallace (CBC ’19) – The 6’6″ power forward had his usual workmanlike game with 16 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots. He was very strong in the first quarter where he helped stake the Cadets to an early lead. He had eight points and three blocks in the first quarter. His motor is running hot all the time as he ran the court and gave maximum effort to go along with his athleticism.
*Cam’ron Fletcher (Vashon ’20) – The 6’7″ top level prospect battled some foul trouble during the game, but he finished with 13 points and seven rebounds. He knocked down a couple of 3-pointers off the catch and displayed his explosive athletic ability with a big transition dunk. He has enjoyed a breakout junior season, which drew a visit from Duke assistant coach Chris Carrawell to Wednesday night’s game to watch him in action.
*Kobe Clark (Vashon ’20) – The 6’6″ combo guard enjoyed a very solid performance with 12 points and seven rebounds. He spent much of the evening with the ball in his hands as he played the facilitator role. He is arguably the team’s most versatile player with his size and skill set. His ability to play point guard and every other position was on full display. He knocked down a couple of impressive jumpers off the dribble on Wednesday.
