The athletic, 6-foot-3 shooting guard was instrumental in helping his team advance all the way to the elite 8. As a result of his recent performances, the state champ should be regarded among the biggest stock risers in 2017 this spring.
Since his state title run with IC Norcom in March, Ingram has been a hot name in recruiting circles who has carried a ton of momentum with him into AAU season. He prides himself on winning over everything, and quite has made that his biggest priority.
“I just like to make my teammates better and win,” Ingram explained. “What coach doesn’t like winning?”
Ingram plays a dynamic brand of basketball, which involves above-the-rim play on both ends of the court. He uses his length and anticipation skills to be a terror in the passing lanes, and finishes with explosiveness and athleticism in the open court. A well-balanced guard who owns a solid skill-set, Ingram’s praises hard work for his recent development.
“I think I’m an all-around player,” he explained. “I feel like I’m underrated, I mean I came a long way when people said I couldn’t shoot.”
An underrated passer, who exhibits an improved jumper to go along with poise and a great feel, Ingram’s recruitment is steadily trending upward since his high school season ended. Murray state, Florida, Arkansas State, and Oklahoma are the four schools he mentioned to be most involved in his recruitment. He received a recent call from Sooners Head Coach Lon Kruger.
“He says he likes the way I make my teammates better,” Ingram stated. “Coaches like how I play defense 94 feet.”
Ingram’s size and skill-set along with his high level athleticism will likely give him the ability to play on or off the ball at the next level. As he continues to improve his handle, and get more consistent with his jumper, his stock should continue to trend upward.
