Here are some of the big games in Class A
Bismarck at Jamestown – Tuesday, Jan. 29
Jamestown is pretty much running away with the WDA title so this game is inherently more important for the Demons but it’s one that could be very good. Joe Jahner and Canyon Stonecipher form one of the best inside-outside duos in the state. Of course the Blue Jays have their own dominant inside-outside pairing in Boden Skunberg and Mason Walters. Bismarck’s taken a couple losses in recent weeks. This is a chance to pick up a massive one heading into the final month of the season.
Grand Forks Red River at Devils Lake – Tuesday, Jan. 29
This one features two teams fighting for fourth in the EDC (the top three in some order feels secure) as the Roughriders head to Devils Lake to take on the Firebirds. Brady Dvorak has been one of the best players in the EDC this year and Will Obioha is one of the best sophomores in the state. The matchup between Obioha and Firebirds’ forward Grant Nelson should be a really good one.
Wahpeton at West Fargo Sheyenne – Friday, Feb. 1
The middle game of the very tough five-game stretch for Wahpeton has the Huskies heading to West Fargo to take on the Mustangs. Wahpeton is part of the mosh of teams in the 4-7 range and will want to keep pace with Devils Lake and Grand Forks Red River. None of those teams have been able to put up much of a fight with the teams in that top tier (Fargo Davies and West Fargo along with Sheyenne) but this is an opportunity to do just that. Sheyenne is in the hunt for the EDC regular season title and the top overall seed.
