The 5-foot-10 guard is both adept at scoring the ball and finding teammates for open buckets. Between those skill-sets, he’s been accounting for a lot of points this season.
“I feel like I can get to the basket and score, and I’m pretty good at creating other people’s shots on the floor and getting them wide-open looks,” said Robinson, who says continuing to add strength to his smaller frame will be a big goal of his.
“On the downside, I’m 5’10, so I feel like what I need to do is get into the weight-room and put on some weight so I can play with the big boys.”
Last season, as a sophomore at Blackfoot, he was coming off the bench before starting by season’s end. Robinson has seen his role increase this season.
“This year, I feel like I’m a little more of a leader, I have a little more experience than some of the other kids on the team and some of the other juniors,” he said. “It’s my job to create scoring for some of the other guys, and play tough defense as well.”
He added: “I want to make state, that’s the goal as a team. And one of my goals is to be a guy that provides instant offense and also just make my teammates better.”
Robinson has never played grassroots ball in the past, but says when his junior season concludes, he wants to. Right now, he doesn’t have a team; Robinson is a free agent.
“I haven’t done AAU in the past and I kind of regret it,” said Robinson. “So this year, I want to do some AAU ball.”
