The Hawk Invitational has been a annual trip for Prep Hoops and Swanny’s Roundball Review for the past 9 years. The field consist of mostly A-AA schools. The new format this season to schedule didn’t give us the opportunity to see all 8 teams in the event. Williston-Elko HS and Branchville HS were eliminated after 2 games this season.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt HS 56 Allendale-Fairfax HS 42
Andrew Bradshaw a senior post player brings great energy and toughness to the floor. Bradshaw was a blue collar gem inside the paint all game long. for the Red Raiders. Bradshaw led the way with 11 points. Justin Baxter and Wake Forest Football signee AJ Williams both added 8 points in the win.
Shawn Jones Jr. and Lonzado Badger both scored 13 points for the Allendale-Fairfax HS Tigers Jones scored 21 in a loss on Friday to Wade Hampton HS (Hampton).
Blackville-Hilda HS 65 Ridge Spring-Monetta HS 62
The host Hawks held off a feisty Trojans in this game. The Hawks playing without Adonis Davis who was hurt the night before vs Barnwell HS. Jacoby Bailey led the way with 25 points. Bailey picked up the scoring slack with Davis out. Kuwaun Odom added 12 points in the victory.
Jerry Tyler scored 20 points for he Trojans in defeat. Johnnie Freeman and Brandon Frazier both scored 12 points.
The 3rd game of the day featured the two winners playing in another game. Blackville-Hilda HS defeated Bamberg-Ehrhardt HS 48-41. Ja’Quavian James led the Hawks in the 3rd place game with 18 points. Jacoby Bailey finished with 12 points. Adonis Davis told Prep Hoops he will be out until sometime in early January.
Brian Murdaugh led the Red Raiders with 9 points, Andrew Bradshaw scored 8 points while AJ Williams and Justin Baxter both finished with 6 points.
Prep Hoops didn’t stay for the championship game between Barnwell HS vs Wade Hampton HS. Prep Hoops will look to catch those teams later in the season.
