The 6’1″Lawson led the Cardinals to a 22-7 records, a Class 3, District 16 championship and a berth all the way to the state quarterfinals, where their season was ended by a powerful Barstow team.
“Making it to the state quarterfinals was one of the things that we talked about all year long,” Glenn said. “We talked about how awesome it would be to be able to play Barstow, because we knew if we got there, then it was a great season. We couldn’t have been more excited about how the year went.”
At the helm of the Cardinals attack was Lawson, who led the team in scoring, but also led the team in assists. Many of his assists were of the spectacular variety. Blessed with outstanding court vision, seemed to know where all of his teammates were at all times. The end result was some eye-popping no-look passes.
“Something that makes me a good passer is that I have teammates that work hard to get open and have good hands,” Glenn said. “We also have great chemistry and we know where each other are.”
As well as being an outstanding passer, Glenn makes a living from beyond the 3-point line. He averaged nearly 16 points a game for the Cardinals. As he prepares for his senior year, Glenn wants to improve his ability to attack the basket. He is playing for the Gators, a team from the Chillicothe area this summer. With his ability to shoot and pass the ball and high basketball IQ, Glenn projects to be a solid NAIA prospect.
“Something I hope to improve on this summer is my ball handling and driving to the basket,” Glenn said. “I want to finish around the rim better.”
