Top Returning 2020 Passers
We highlight the top returning passers in the 2020 class from last year. These guys led the 2020 class in assists per game and come back this year and look to push their assist totals even higher. They were the best in the 2020 class at setting up their teammates for a score. There are some missing players as some statistics from players were not uploaded to maxpreps.com.
Capone Johnson (Eastbrook) – 5’11 PG – 7.4 APG
Johnson is a very fast point guard who sees the floor very well. He is a good passer a well and sets up his teammates well for easy scores. Johnson is a guy who has a high motor and will raise his assist total this year as he is more comfortable in the offense.
Carson Barrett (Lafayette Central Catholic) – 6’3 SF – 7.2 APG
Barrett is a do-it-all guy for LCC. He is a guy that really runs the offense and is the one who controls the ball the most. He sees the floor better than anyone in the state and his passes are right on the money. He plays very aggressive and his passing reflects that.
Hayden Jones (East Noble) – 6′ PG – 6.0 APG
Jones was part of a very potent offensive team and has some really solid offensive pieces around him to pass the ball to. Jones will be able to spread the ball out even more this year because of the returning pieces that East Noble brings back.
Cole Cross (Blue River Valley) – 5’10 PG – 5.1 APG
Cross was just one of the guys for Blue River Valley this year that had a solid year. There are a few guys on this team that have the ability to produce some big numbers and get into the stat book. Cross is a guy who really helped his guys score with his passing and leadership.
Max Gizzi (New Palestine) – 6′ PG – 4.7 APG
Gizzi is a guy who has gotten a ton better over the summer. He has the ability to make passes that a lot of other guys are unable to make. Gizzi is going to be a really solid contributor this year for New Palestine as their roster sets up well for him to increase his total.
Jake Friel (Hebron) – 5’10 PG – 4.7 APG
Friel was so consistent this year as he had multiple assists in every game that he played in. He had a low assist total of two and a high of eight multiple times. Friel is a guy who really depending on his passing ability as a true point guard.
