Recruiting Report: Cedrick Stabber (2019)
Cedrick Stabber is one of the talented returning players at Sturgis Brown and Cedrick Stabber spent his summer months competing with Sacred Hoops.
“This summer I learned a lot about creating for others and how I can help get my teammates good shots,” Stabber said. “My favorite memories from the summer were winning the MAYB in Sioux Falls and getting to meet and make new friends that I will see this regular season.”
When Stabber and his Sturgis teammates compete in high school basketball against the best players from the western part of South Dakota, Cedrick will have to replace both scoring that was lost to graduation and he will do some distributing.
“We don’t have a lot of people coming back but we do have three starters returning with a lot of varsity experience, this season we expect to beat last years record of 13-7 and win our state tournament play in game,” Stabber said.
“Last season we had two seniors who averaged 15 points a game and they are both gone now leaving some pretty big shoes to fill so this off-season I’m mainly focused on improving my scoring ability and producing more on the offensive side of the ball.”
Mount Marty and a few other local programs have been in contact with Stabber, and another new school watched Stabber compete and has picked up contact.
“This summer the only new recruitment I got was by Dakota State University.”
