Recruiting Report: Canaan Fagerland (2019)
Five-foot-10 shooting guard Canaan Fagerland of Shiloh Christian returns along with most of their line-up. First thought? Football season. Fagerland is an excellent football player too.
Shiloh Christian won 20 games last year and loses only Jonas Mitzel to graduation after earning their way to the state tournament. In other words, expectations are high.
“Definitely the whole team has picked up on how much fun we have playing together and how we pretty much have everyone back besides Jonas,” Fagerland said. “So we have the chemistry that should be really fun to play with.”
Canaan spent his summer playing three sports as he is a top multi-sport athlete in the 2019 class.
“I’ve actually primarily focused on baseball and football but I did go to some summer camps with the Shiloh team to improve,” Canaan said.
“Honestly, we are going to come back with the thought that we can compete with anyone. We have the talent and the team to just have fun, play the way we do, and see where that takes us.”
At the moment Fagerland is playing running back and linebacker for Shiloh Christian and college coaches are watching.
“As far as recruiting goes, most of the looks have been from football. I’ve gotten to visit a few campuses for football, most recently Minnesota State-Moorhead.”
