Recruiting Report: Zane Gross (2019)
Southern Indiana hoops has been a bright spot the last few years and one of the schools that is about to have a bit of a revival this season is Silver Creek. Led by senior Zane Gross, this team has quite a few interesting players but their senior standout should make a massive impact coming off a really good summer with Indiana Elite Central 2019.
Gross, a 6’2 shooter, is one of the better prospects in the Southern half of the state and he’s really taken his game to a more consistent level this summer. Shooting the ball has always been a standout part of his game but he showed a ton more on-ball ability, creating in the mid-range and really driving the ball well.
He’s so talented when he can get into a pull-up opportunity and now he’s at a point where that is becoming easier and more diverse which has helped him be more consistent with his scoring production.
College coaches have had the same view as well and his high academics have made him a bright spot for some of the areas top DIII programs as well as some more Midwestern DII schools. Joining the likes of Anderson and Rose-Hulman, Zane is hearing from West Liberty, Findlay, Tiffin, Bellarmine, Albion, Centre College, and Lancaster Bible College.
In years past, Indiana has had quite a few kids like Zane go to bigger, out-of-state programs because of their ability to play the game and bring a high level of shooting. For Zane, he has drawn in some of those schools like a Bellarmine or Findlay.
Zane is looking into engineering in college so Rose-Hulman is definitely involved as well as Anderson. He will visits both of them coming up this Fall, heading to Rose on September 5th and Anderson for an overnight October 19th and 20th.
