Led by the best player in the class, Kris Wilkes, the small forwards have tons of options at the DI level. Loganport’s Jalen Adaway has come a long way in the last year to propel him to the second spot. Parker Hazen of Columbia City, Jermaine Couisnard of East Chicago, and Caleb Coleman of Hammond round out the top five, all at the Division I level.
Just outside the top five, you have a pair of guys with two sport eligibility in Sterling Weatherford and Peyton Hendershot. Right now, Weatherford has a little more interest in basketball and Hendershot a little more interest in football. You also have some of the biggest movers in this class with Courvosier McCauley of Indianapolis Manual and Grant Pedigo of Franklin Central.
As for makeup of this group, you have a ton of athletes and a ton of good size. You have the obvious names at the top of the list but some of the lesser known guys to watch are guys like Cameron Wilbon, T.J. Waldon, Lance Hopkins, and Anton Berry. There are quite a few undersized guys who can play tough on the interior like Austin Kendrick, Danny Goggans, and Paul Minor. I also love the depth of scoring wings, even near the lower end with guys like Griffin Spring, Keenan Orr, and Maurice Knight. The is some diversity in this group and should give colleges plenty of options.
