Bloomfield opened a 8-0 lead in the first quarter and West Washington cut the lead to 13-6 at the end of the first quarter. Bloomfield’s Chris Gilmore then caught fire in the second quarter hitting two more 3-pointers and a lay-in off of a steal. Bloomfield led 29-17 at the end of the first half.
West Washington would come out hot in the second half as they cut it to a two point game in the fourth quarter. This was after outscoring Bloomfield 16-9 in the third quarter. Chris Gilmore thwarted any attempt of a comeback though as he hit a bucket in the fourth to extend the lead back up and eventually Bloomfield took a 49-40 lead late to seal the game.

Chris Gilmore – 6’2 – Junior
Gilmore hit so many good shots in this game. He had 14 points at the half to help build up the 13 point halftime lead and then in the second half he hit to keep the lead at a comfortable position. He was 6/7 from deep and really stroked the ball tonight. Impressive game and he’ll have to duplicate it next weekend for a shot at the state championship.

Bloomfield will face Liberty Christian at 10:45 a.m. in the 1A state final at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
West Washington finishes their season 20-9.
