Continue ReadingConnor Entzi is a 6-foot-5 power forward and ranks with the best in the state at his position and overall. The senior is from Edgeley-Kulm and has pushed the Rebels to an excellent season through February.
“We are 13-2 with both losses to ranked teams by 1 point each,” Entzi said. “We just beat the (top) ranked team in the state (Ellendale) by 12 last week. We have been coming together really well and playing hard. We defend really well. If our offense keeps improving, we’ll be ready come tournament time.”
Entzi is correct in that the Rebels are losing games by small margins. Before getting revenge on Ellendale the Rebels lost to them by a point and they lost to Linton/HMB by a point and to LLM in overtime two days ago.
Connor has led the Rebels over Ellendale, Oakes, South Border, Carrington, and some quality teams from South Dakota this year so he’s doing what was expected, leading the team to victories. As a competitive senior he wants more though.
“I’ve been playing ok. I feel like I can do some things better. This year I’ve doing a much better job of involving my teammates and knocking down outside shots. I want to keep distributing and defend the other team’s best player better.”
Connor does some of everything for his team and that is why so many programs are showing him interest.
“I want to continue my basketball career but I’m not sure where quite yet,” said Entzi. “Jamestown, University of Mary, Minot State, Black Hills State, and Williston State are showing interest.”
