Hernandez wasn’t a name I had on my radar until this weekend, but he’s a really interesting player who could have a nice year for Catholic Memorial. During CM’s quarterfinal and semifinal wins, the 6-foot-4 forward showcased impressive IQ and positioning—he sets hard screens with good angles, he does a good job catching low roll passes, and he can finish with both hands. The lefty also made some outside shots, which makes him that much more versatile. Hernandez is going to be a nice lynchpin in the paint for CM this season, and he’ll be a double-double threat every night.
