Each year, a new group of prospects crosses state lines looking for a new opportunity, and this season is no different.

From players coming in from neighboring states to international prospects making their way to Illinois, several newcomers could make an immediate impact for their new programs. These transfers bring a variety of skill sets, physical tools, and playing styles that should make them names to monitor throughout the upcoming season.

Here is a look at several out-of-state transfers who could make their presence felt in Illinois, organized by graduation year.

2027

Joshua Hinton — Perspectives Leadership

From: Morton (IN)

Hinton brings an athletic 6-foot-8 frame and a defensive-minded approach to the frontcourt. He is a natural rim protector who uses his length and timing to challenge shots and serve as an automatic space filler around the basket. Offensively, Hinton operates primarily as a lob threat and finishes effectively from the dunker spot. His ability to run the floor, play above the rim, and clean up possessions on the glass should give Perspectives Leadership a needed interior presence. With a dynamic backcourt around him, Hinton could provide the type of rim protection, rebounding, and vertical spacing that complements perimeter play.

2028

Bolu Larewaju — Lincoln Park

From: Springdale Prep (MD)

Larewaju is an intriguing prospect because of the on-ball skill he possesses for a player with his size and physical profile. He combines broad shoulders and length with the ability to put the ball on the floor and create opportunities. Larewaju also brings value as a high-level rim runner, giving his guards a vertical target in transition and the half court. Defensively, he plays with an active motor and has the tools to make an impact around the paint. His adjustment to Illinois basketball will be worth monitoring, but the combination of size, athleticism, and developing perimeter skills gives him plenty of upside.

[player_tooltip player_id='3682866' first='Goran' last='Davidovic'] — Lake Forest Academy

From: Crestwood Prep (Canada)

Davidovic is a guard who thrives on attacking tight gaps with a quick first-step burst. Once he gets downhill, he does a good job drawing help defenders before making the appropriate read, whether that's a drop-off pass to a teammate or a spray-out to the perimeter. His ability to collapse the defense gives him value as a playmaker rather than simply a scorer. Davidovic also consistently rebounds from the guard position, allowing him to help initiate transition immediately after securing the ball. His combination of burst, decision-making, and rebounding should make him an interesting addition to Lake Forest Academy.

Hashem Muhsen — Brother Rice

From: Jordan

At 6-foot-11, Muhsen immediately changes the geometry of the floor. His biggest impact currently comes around the basket, where he uses his size and length to create second-chance opportunities on the offensive glass. Defensively, Muhsen has shown the ability to challenge shots at the rim while maintaining solid verticality. His presence also helps clog driving lanes and forces perimeter players to account for another big body in the paint. As his overall skill set continues to develop, his physical tools, improving hands, and functional footwork give him noticeable upside in the Brother Rice frontcourt.

[player_tooltip player_id='3723982' first='Lameck' last='Hassan'] — Romeoville

From: Danville Christian (KY)

Hassan dominated the interior with a combination of rebounding, rim protection, and above-the-rim finishing. The 6-foot-9 big is an instant glass cleaner who has the physical tools to control possessions on both ends of the floor. As a roll man, Hassan operates effectively in pick-and-roll situations, using his frame to set solid screens before diving hard to the basket. His vertical athleticism makes him a legitimate lob threat, particularly when paired with guards who can deliver the ball around the rim. While he continues to develop his overall feel and offensive skill set, his physical profile gives him a high floor and the potential to become a major interior piece for Romeoville.

[player_tooltip player_id='3726274' first='Stafford' last='Brown'] — Montini

From: Ralston Valley (CO)

Brown is a well-built 6-foot-2 shooting guard who showed plenty of two-way ability during recent action. He competed on the defensive end, showing the willingness to stay in front of perimeter players and make plays from the guard spot, including blocking a three-point attempt. Offensively, Brown displayed a comfortable pull-up game, particularly from the mid-range where he knocked down several shots. His ability to score off the bounce gives Montini another option in the backcourt. Brown is a player to keep an eye on as he enters his junior campaign and adjusts to his new surroundings.

2029

[player_tooltip player_id='2918990' first='Vance' last='Weber'] — Highland

From: Chaminade (MO)

Weber returns to Illinois after spending time at Chaminade, making the move back to Highland for his sophomore season. He brings a combination of size and athleticism that immediately stands out at the high school level. Weber is a multi-sport athlete who has also made an impact on the gridiron, showcasing the type of physical tools that translate well to basketball. With his return to Highland, he is expected to take on a significant role early in the season. His athleticism, size, and ability to make plays in multiple areas should make him one of the younger players to monitor closely.

A New Wave of Talent

The influx of out-of-state transfers gives Illinois programs another avenue to add talent and reshape their rosters. Whether it's an athletic big man, a downhill guard, a developing two-way wing, or an international prospect adjusting to a new style of basketball, each of these players brings a different element to their new program.

As the season gets underway, their transition to Illinois basketball will be one of the more intriguing storylines to follow. With new surroundings, new teammates, and new roles, these transfers have an opportunity to make an immediate impact while establishing themselves within the Illinois high school basketball landscape.
