Taking a look around my notes and checking the rankings it is very clear that the state of Louisiana has a ton of talent. The difference between numbers and placement is often determined by intangibles. Unselfish play, toughness on the defensive side of the ball, diving on the floor, consistent body language are just a few of those characteristics. All of these traits appeal to scouts and coaches at the next level. Here are some of the players that check those intangible boxes that will carry on to the next level.    When you talk about big summer, Austin is right at the top of the list. He is a high flying, high skill and high motor player with tons of upside. His ability to control the game is second to none, and he can fill the seats as well as the stat sheets for each of those reasons. He is a joyful athlete that competes with the same intensity whether his team is winning or losing. The coach that grabs Austin will get an undeniable competitor with a winning attitude and winning hoop ways.     Robert is the Swiss army knife of the Louisiana hoops landscape. Robert has lead guy skills, character and impact on the game. His size, skill, demeanor and intangibles make him one of those high character players that can earn a spot in any gym in the nation. Wright locks in and does what it takes to win, and that may not always fill his own PPG stat. Robert could finish a game with 6 points 15 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 steals. We celebrate points, but Wright does all the other stuff. Wright is the type of player that turns a solid program into a winning program.     Bright is just one of those kids that is hard to explain. He can flat out play the game. He never takes a break when he is on the floor and is not really the player that you notice when he walks in the gym. His game is not about appearance. It is all about performance. He is the player that never disappoints, and as a rising sophomore he is only getting better. His ability to fill the stat sheet is one thing, but his motor speaks louder than anything. He is the spark plug that keeps the engine going. Bright is just a dawg.     Rivers is poised to be the lead guy on one of the toughest teams in the state. Captain Shreve is going to be tough to deal with. They are playing a tough style of ball that is going to frustrate finesse teams. Rivers is a high energy PG with a shifty handle, a fearless mindset, elite hoop imagination and poise. His hoop journey is marked by playing his role and waiting his turn. Now he is ready for it all. His ascension to next level prospect is built on hard work and patience. Watch out for Chico. It is his time to lead.     Watson was a key component for the Ferriday State Championship squad, and his consistency is what defines his game. He is absolute pressure on the defensive side of the ball and poise on offense. He has college running back size, and college point guard skill and mentality. He is a competent three level scorer and his game has come full circle. He on the lookout for his developed shooting ability and leadership to be on full display this upcoming season.    The game does not wait for anyone. What happened the year prior does not determine the future. Good or bad, the only thing that matters is the work. Locking in can boost your recruiting profile, and getting comfortable can see your opportunity move on to the player that dug in. Opportunities never go away, they just go to someone else.
