High School Spotlight: Bloomington South Panthers

The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. Holmes starts his 45th year as head coach. He is 948-388 as a head coach.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Looking to win first Sectional since 2021.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2470608' first='Duncan' last='Combs']<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/levi-lindeman/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the most productive power forwards that we have in the southern Indiana region of the state is Bloomington South's [player_tooltip player_id='2470608' first='Duncan' last='Combs'], who returns to lead the Panthers once again this season. Combs is a big-time football prospect but can get it done at a high level on the basketball floor as well. An Indiana Junior All-Star last year, Combs is a really good offensive rebounder who attacks closeouts, finishes around the basket with either hand, and can stretch the floor at a high level. One of the more underrated players in the in-state 2027 class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2820675' first='Tal' last='Shoulberg']<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/royce-bridgewaters/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An under-the-radar player who has really caught my eye this past summer is 2029 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2820675' first='Tal' last='Shoulberg'], who will be leading the Panthers in the backcourt this season. The 5'9" point guard runs the show in the backcourt for the Panthers while also being a lights-out shooter in his own right. He is a very aggressive guard who can also mix it up in the lane.
