EXPO 2026: 2nd Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Saturday, September 5th&nbsp;<strong>Prep Hoops Arizona</strong>&nbsp;had the annual&nbsp;<strong>EXPO Showcase</strong>&nbsp;which was hosted at Inspire Courts in Gilbert, AZ. We had 64 players from the 2027-2029 classes who were competing in a few games of 5 on 5.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This article is&nbsp;<strong>not a prospect ranking</strong>&nbsp;but how productive they were at the camp when I viewed them.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here is the 2nd Team</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2639654' first='Kaden' last='Adams'] Higley</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the better shooters in the 2029 local class let it fly from the perimeter. He has a pretty looking stroke with threes off the catch and mid-range pull-ups and can side step into a shot. He will hesitate and get to his spots and is crafty and smart.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2785914' first='Yowin' last='Ajawin'] Dream City Christian</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A forward who can play multiple positions. He has a fluid handle to get downhill and score it thru contact. He will take a ball off the glass and go coast to coast. He will score with tough power moves in the paint but then hit the three off the catch.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2640547' first='Christian' last='Brown'] Boulder Creek (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A tough, athletic and physical wing forward or bigger guard with improving skill. He will score with threes and downhill takes in traffic scoring thru heavy traffic with advanced body control. He is a very good on ball defender and will even block shots.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2306394' first='Jamar' last='Keyes Jr'] Hillcrest Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger power forward with nice length, fluidity and skill. He will score with threes off the catch or dribble, shoot it from mid-range, downhill takes in traffic with long strides and he is a sneaky good passer. He rebounds well in his area and should be a nice addition to the prep team.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2281702' first='Caleb' last='McDaniel'] Cesar Chavez (Cactus Canyon)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A two-way defensive point guard is one of the faster players from end to end. He will score with mid-range pull-ups, bursts of serious speed to the basket and is jet quick up the court. He is a sneaky good passer and I loved how hard he competes on the defensive end. He has quick feet and lateral quickness to keep his opponents in front of him. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2949688' first='Zion' last='Sanchez'] Boulder Creek</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger guard showed off his improving skill. He will rattle off perimeter jumpers from mid to the three point line. He will fall away from his defender and is very patient in the post. He will get on the glass and score with put backs and is lined up to break out this season.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2427680' first='Conner' last='Tefteller'] Campo Verde</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A pure point guard who makes the game easy for all his teammates. He finds his shooters in stride or his cutters thru traffic. He will score with hesitations to the basket and threes off the catch or pull. He should have a monster senior season.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2625965' first='Kaii' last='Voogd'] AZ Compass Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger and athletic scoring guard who is wired to score. He will rattle in threes from deep off the dribble or off the catch. He uses a nice handle to set up his shot to gain some separation and let it fly. He will score with fade aways and he is deceptively quick to the basket. He will also throw it down way above the rim.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2825334' first='Julian' last='Robles'] Canyon Del Oro</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring guard from Tucson is way under the radar and honestly undervalued by myself and his ranking. He has a pretty looking three point stroke from beyond the arc and is faster then he looks to burst down the lane to get downhill. Look for a breakout season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
