SWBC 2026 5th Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>August 17th-18th Cedric Cobb Sr and I held the 9th annual&nbsp;<strong>Southwest Basketball Camp</strong>&nbsp;at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>120 players came to gain exposure in front of college coaches and scouts plus compete versus some top end players over the two days.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Each player competed in 5 games for the two days plus 48 competed in an extra All-Star Game. (Top-24 or Top-48 All-Star Game)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here is the 5th Team</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3665122' first='Obatayo' last='Adigun'] <strong>St. Mary's (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A face-up power forward was one of only two to make an all-star game from the freshmen class. He will score it with off the dribble or off the catch threes. He rebounds well in his area with his big wingspan and size and will score with offensive rebound put backs and hit shots in traffic. He also talks on defense and is very competitive. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2950406' first='Alex' last='Beck']<strong> Mica Mountain</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A strong scoring guard with some good bounce and a plus frame. He will score it with pull-ups from mid-range and threes off the catch in the corner. He uses his stronger upper body to get downhill and he can defend multiple positions with his toughness. He also won the slam dunk contest on top of earning a top-48 all-star bid. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2574803' first='Joshua' last='Blevins'] <strong>Mountain Pointe</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A top-48 all-star selection had arguably the dunk of the two days with a nasty poster dunk. The long power forward is very fluid and athletic. He will rebound in his area and block shots plus moves well in space. He will score with put backs, mid-range jumpers and fade aways. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2396374' first='Levi' last='Carter'] <strong>Valley Vista</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If there was a snub, it would have been Carter in my opinion. He is a real point guard with ropes up the court with advanced court vision. He is quick on the ball defensively and will collect steals. He will score with downhill takes using his tight handle and score thru the contact. He will get on the glass and should have a big season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2949466' first='Chase' last='Crandall'] <strong>Highland</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long scoring guard seems to keep improving yearly. He uses his length to play the passing lanes and rebounds well in his area. He will score with downhill takes, reverse layups, fall aways from mid-range, threes off the catch and jab step jumpers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2552795' first='Chase' last='Forman']<strong> Notre Dame Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A versatile wing forward does multiple things to help a team win. He will score, defend and make plays. He is a very good passer for position and will score with jumpers, offensive rebound put backs and take the ball off the glass and go coast to coast. A perfect glue player on a team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2812746' first='Cash' last='Hill'] <strong>AZ Lutheran</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring guard was one of the top shooters at the camp for the two days. He squares up quickly like you should and fires away with a quick trigger. When he is left open he will hit the three off the catch. He will also score with layups in transition or get downhill. He rebounds well in his area. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2741030' first='Max' last='Johnson'] <strong>Valley Christian </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A quickly improving defensive pure point guard who plays with a huge motor to compete. He will pester his opponents up the court and makes players around him better with some needle threaders. He will score getting to the basket with a burst and he can hit the three off the catch. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3726255' first='Marrion' last='May'] <strong>Sequoia Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A defensive minded point guard with good speed and a strong upper body frame with some skill. He will score it downhill in traffic using his build and also blow by his defender with either hand. He can hit the three off the catch with deep range and competes.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2513390' first='Barron' last='Rygiel'] <strong>Boulder Creek</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A power forward keeps ascending and is ready to break out this season. This will be his first year playing heavy minutes and he will gobble up rebounds in his area with a plus motor and athleticism. He will score with dunks on break, put backs and mid-range jumpers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
