Section 1A – Can Southland play for a state title in 26-27?

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Section Predictions</h2>   <ol class="wp-block-list"> <li>Southland.  The Rebels return all of their man pieces from a 29-3 team and they have big expectations for next season. </li>   <li>Lanesboro.  The Buros won 21 games last year and have the best player in the section (Taylor) returning plus two others.  Have some experience spots to fill but should still be very good. </li>   <li>Hayfield.  The Vikings return all but one guy from last year's 19-win team</li>   <li>Mabel-Canton.  A couple double figure scoring starters are back with a few reserves from a 19 win team.</li>   <li>Grand Meadow. Lost their top scorer but they have three starters back from an 18 win team.</li>   <li>Lewiston-Altura. Only one starter is back, but they have all their key reserves returning.</li>   <li>Kenyon-Wanamingo. An interesting team, they have all starters back from an 11 win team, but a team that gave up a lot of points.</li>   <li>Bethlehem Academy.  Four starters return from an 11-win team including the top scorers</li>   <li>Lyle/Austin Pacelli.  The two two scorers return for an 11-win team.</li>   <li>Wabasha-Kellogg.  The best two players on the team are back after a 10-19 year</li>   <li>Spring Grove.  They won ten games last year, two starters return.</li>   <li>Medford.  A team that has a good player in [player_tooltip player_id='2824381' first='Landon' last='Seiler'] who has given Medford hope.</li>   <li>Fillmore Central.  A four win team from last season that has two of their best guys back</li>   <li>Rochester Math & Science Academy.  Return top players from a ten win team.</li>   <li>Leroy-Ostrander.  A six win team last year that should take a step forward with a lot back.</li>   <li>Houston. The four win team has a good big returning.</li>   <li>Schaeffer Academy.  Lost a 28ppg player on a 10win team, lost of points to fill.</li>   <li>Kingsland.  All top players back but they won just one game a year ago. </li>   <li>Minnesota Academy of the Deaf.  Played just seven games last season, lost by an average of 52 points.</li> </ol>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">All Section</h2>   First Team   [player_tooltip player_id='2824358' first='Nicholas' last='Taylor'] of Lanesboro (Sr). The St. Cloud State commit is the best player in A hoops.   Tate Goergen of Southland (Sr). A 22 point per game all state player that returns.   Henry Wiste of Southland (Sr).  Scored 20 points per game last year, 6'3 forward   [player_tooltip player_id='2846686' first='Charlie' last='Walker'] of Hayfield (Jr). A 6'1 junior that scored 21 a game last year shooting 42.6 3pt%   Ethan Schammel of Southland (Sr).  A 6'5 post that scored 14 a game last season.   Second Team   [player_tooltip player_id='2386780' first='Brekken' last='Koenigs'] of Southland (Soph).  Scored ten a game as a freshman.    [player_tooltip player_id='2435192' first='Logan' last='Grafe'] of Grand Meadow (Sr).  A 6'5 big that scored 12 a game last year.    [player_tooltip player_id='2824381' first='Landon' last='Seiler'] of Medford (Sr).  A 25 point per game player as a junior.   Eli Heden of Kenyon-Wanamingo (Jr).  Scored nearly 17 points a game.    [player_tooltip player_id='2829349' first='Reid' last='Hungerholt'] of Leroy-Ostrander (Sr).  Reid gave his team 21 points a game last year.   Third Team   Seth Aldorfer of Kenyon-Wanamingo (Sr).  Seth scored over a 16 a game as a junior.   Atreyu Florin of Houston (Jr). A 6'5, 215 pound big that scored 15 a game last season.   Conor Danielson of Lanesboro (Sr).  A 5'8 guard that scored ten a game last season.    Nolan Garness of Mabel-Canton (Jr).  A 5'10 guard that is the leading returning scorer   [player_tooltip player_id='3677459' first='Hunter' last='Wollenburg'] of Lyle/Austin Pacelli (sr).  A 15.5pgg scorer as a junior    Fourth Team   Kale Eiken of Mabel-Canton (Sr).  The 5'11 playmaker that scored 11 a game last season.   Seth Lubinski of Lewiston-Altura (Sr).  The lone returning starter for LA, Seth scored 10ppg   Mohamed Abdirahman of Rochester Math & Science (Sr).  Scored 21 a game last season.   Caden Dokkestol of Bethlehem Academy (Sr).  Caden scored 16 a game as a junior.   Rylan Nelson of Hayfield (Sr). A 6'1 senior guard that scored 12ppg last season   Fifth Team   [player_tooltip player_id='3551373' first='Owen' last='Dotterweich'] of Bethlehem Academy (Sr).  A guard that scored 15 a game in 25-26.   Weston Ingvalson of Spring Grove (Jr).  A 6'0 guard who scored 13.5pgg a year ago   Coen Craft of Grand Meadow (Sr).  A 6'1 guard that scored ten points a game as a junior   [player_tooltip player_id='3655823' first='Matthew' last='Busch'] of Wabaska-Kellogg (Jr).  Top returning player for his team scoring 13 a contest   Bridon Bahl of Fillmore Central (Sr).  Scored 14 a game last year as a junior.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1A Section Summary</h2>   Southland went to state last season and they gave the state champs (Hills-Beaver Creek) the closest game (three point game) plus they defeated Upsala at state as well. The Rebels went 29-3 overall (two of the losses at state) last year and they return all of their pieces from the best team in school history. With Tate and Henry as 20ppg players and all of the rotational pieces returning, the Rebels have a team that can think about winning a state title.  That said…   Lanesboro is a top ten threat that will try and keep Southland from state.  [player_tooltip player_id='2824358' first='Nicholas' last='Taylor'] is a top 15-20 player in the state and he has a chance to have a special year which could lead to a special year for the Buros.  The one thing that could be tough for Lanesboro to get past the Rebels is that Lanesboro did graduate some of their depth. The last games the teams played was a 58-51 Southland victory.   And don't forget about Hayfield who has the potential to take things to a higher level plus Mabel-Canton should contend as well.
