A sleeper out of Schuylkill County, Werner caught the eye this July as part of a sneakily talented PA Flight group that competed on the ZGXL and HGAL platforms. He impressed with his blend of size and positional versatility on the perimeter, toggling nicely between wing and guard responsibilities. His ability to initiate offense as a ballhandler at his size really helps him stand out, while he’s also an effective slasher from the wing in both the halfcourt and transition. He hasn’t gotten to prove himself too much against scholarship-level athletes but he has the type of raw outlines to generate interest from PSAC and CACC type programs, or could prove out to be a steal down the line if he slips to the college ranks.

Werner is a sneaky athletic wing who plays well above the rim and consistently takes advantage of mismatches. His versatility allows him to operate effectively from multiple areas of the floor, making him a difficult matchup for defenders. Off the ball, Werner does a nice job setting screens and creating opportunities for his teammates while staying engaged within the flow of the offense. Defensively, he is agile on his feet, navigating around ball screens with ease and staying connected to his assignment. His blend of athleticism, versatility, and feel for the game makes him an intriguing two-way prospect.
