Cage is a versatile scoring guard who impressed for Hayfield this summer and is poised for a big senior season. He is capable of being not only a scorer but a facilitator as well. The senior is a reliable shot maker from beyond the arc and also has the ability to create off the dribble in the midrange and in the paint. He plays at his own pace, changes speeds well and reads defenses effectively.

Cage is a nice offensive player who is poised to be an important piece for Hayfield this season. With Cage, it’s his balance as a scorer and distributor that caught my eye. He showed that he’s able to take whatever look the defense gives him and provide production. On late closeouts or kick-out passes, he can knock down three’s with good form. When he’s in high ball screens, he can make bigs pay from the midrange if they play drop coverage. Cage can also get slippery on drives to the rim and contort his body in ways to fit in the slightest of driving lanes before finishing quick scoop layups. He’s capable of playing on or off the ball, leading the break himself for dimes or sprinting the lanes and posing as a three-level threat.

Cage was outstanding for Hayfield during the June live recruiting periods. The senior is a creative scorer off the dribble who can beat defenders, get into the paint and finish around the rim. He is also an effective shot maker from the midrange and beyond the arc, giving him the ability to score at all three levels. More than just a scorer, Cage can create for others and consistently find open teammates when the defense collapses.
