This weekend, I attended the Zero Gravity Finals at Dana Barros Basketball Club in Stoughton, MA. Teams from the entire Northeast (and even Canada!) were in the building, and I saw tons of talent on display.

As always, it's impossible to watch every game and every player. With that being said, I consumed 20 hours of basketball at Dana Barros this weekend, so there's that.

Beqaj has some excellent physical tools for his age. The 6-foot-5 freshman is built like a football player but can move well for his size. He's able to step out and knock down shots from the outside while also driving to the lane and using his strength and power to bully defenders, and with a head of steam, the Quincy High School stud can also get above the rim for dunks. Beqaj hasn't reclassed yet and will look a lot more polished in the years to come, but he'll be a big time player for Quincy next season and will probably be on the radar of local prep coaches this next year.

Mitchell really impressed me this weekend with his strength and toughness. The 6-foot guard is a total bulldog with the ball in his hands and has the ability to consistently blow by defenders. His off hand is super effective, and he's able to both finish at the rim and kickout to teammates depending on how the defense plays him. Defensively, Mitchell is a bulldog who's extremely difficult to get by at the point of attack. He's a 2027 at Salesian High School but appears to have reclass potential, and I wouldn't be surprised to see some NEPSAC school's super intrigued by him.

Farrell is as solid as they come. The 6-foot-1 point guard can score from all three levels and is super comfortable with the ball in his hands, regardless of the defensive pressure he may be facing. He has a knack for getting into the paint and then hitting turnaround faders, but he also always plays off of two feet and is quite under control when making decisions. Defensively, he won't wow you with quickness, but he defends his position well and competes hard. Definite future college player.

Grant really impressed me this weekend with his ability to get into the paint and finish with contact. He's a relentless rim attacker who's constantly looking for creases in the defense and is ready to pounce whenever the back-side defenders aren't loaded up. Once he gets into the paint, he's a fearless finisher who has a deep bag of tricks including finishes high off the glass with both hands. Grant can also knock down shots from the outside and defends his behind off. He should be an impact player for Thayer this season.

Joseph is physically imposing and is extremely well-built for a kid his size and age. At 6-foot-5, he looks like a football player and has absolutely no problem using his upper-body strength to shuck defenders out of the way. On numerous occasions, he made moves to the rim and kept his line against more than one defender, oftentimes finishing at the hoop with lots of contact. But the Bedford HS sophomore also has some solid finesse with both hands at the rim. He's a definite potential prep reclass candidate.

Marshall is an awesome player who can fit well in any system. The 6-foot-6 wing is extremely strong and athletic and is thus able to guard forwards (and even centers if he has to) as an undersized 4 or 5 man. But he can also slide his feet with guards and wings on the perimeter and use his sturdiness to hold his ground against them, oftentimes forcing off-balance shots. Offensively, he doesn't need the ball to put up big numbers; he's a great slasher to the rim and takes contact very well at the cup. Most importantly, though, Marshall has an excellent motor and plays super hard, so he comes up with tons of loose balls, rebounds, and deflections. If he can improve his outside shot, he'll see his recruitment skyrocket.
