June 4th-6th I attended the annual Best in Basketball Summer Invitational. It is the premier warm up event for the prestigious Section-7 with 20 Section-7 weekend teams plus others who have a chance to qualify for the weekend.

I watched every team 2-3 times and came up with many different categories to place each prospect.

Here were the Newcomers from the 2027-28's

[player_tooltip player_id='3662766' first='Brandon' last='Bellot'] Hamilton

A newcomer for me is a transfer by way of Chandler. He is a strong shooting guard who will score. He will use runners, floaters and tough downhill traffic buckets using his frame. He will hit the three off the catch and score with fast break layups after he collects the steal. He is also a smart passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2308139' first='Isaiah' last='Bowens'] Skyline

A quick undersized point guard is very confident. The newcomer for me can get downhill and score with layups and floaters plus he will get hot with threes off the catch. He comes with some range and a quicker trigger. He will be one of their team leaders this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='3662780' first='David' last='Evans'] McClintock

A bigger point guard is very good off of the pick and roll game. He seems to make the correct read every time and will also score it. He shoots it from the three point line and gets transition buckets. He uses his size to rebound at a good clip in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='2854235' first='Charlie' last='Larsen'] Horizon

A strong framed wing forward has that physical approach to the game and almost seeks the contact. He will get downhill and score thru the contact. He works inside with euro steps and counter moves with his right hand and floaters. He is also a sneaky good passer and will collect steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2565194' first='Noah' last='Reyes'] Skyline (Pictured)

A scoring lead guard can set the table for his teammates but is wired to score. He will score with step backs from mid-range and has a little wiggle to get downhill. He can hit the three and score it in transition. He is a really good passer and quick in the passing lanes with his long arms.

[player_tooltip player_id='3662738' first='Julius' last='Robertson'] Skyline

His HS teammate is a strong framed power forward who is a little undersized but scores it with put backs off the glass, runners, floaters and hook shots. He sets strong picks, runs the floor well and gobbles up all rebounds in his area with his girth and softer hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='3662785' first='Charles' last='Wamacho'] Westview

A long power forward is a natural defensive type of player. He will block shots out of his area and he is a plus rebounder with good fluidity and some athleticism. He will score with layups for the most part but occasionally step out and shoot the three.

[player_tooltip player_id='3662962' first='Darion' last='Wesley'] McClintock

Another newcomer for me is a strong framed thicker wing forward with some skill and toughness. He is a natural downhill type of player but will also score it with threes off the catch, hook shots and fall aways in the post. He is a good rebounder in his area using his frame and aggression.

[player_tooltip player_id='3662961' first='Amare' last='Williams'] Tucson

The newcomer is a long and lean guard from Tucson. He is quick on the ball defensively and he can catch and shoot it from the three point line. He may end up a 3 and D type once he fills in and gets stronger. He is someone to monitor in Southern Arizona.

[player_tooltip player_id='3662788' first='Semaj' last='Wilson'] Westview

Another newcomer for me is a long wing defender who is super active to defend a few positions. He uses his long arms and athleticism to defend. He will rebound and plays with a motor. He also scored it with transition layups and downhill takes.
