Southern AZ June Ball Standouts

June Ball has started and we are on the move. I've had the opportunity to attend a couple summer leagues and have been able to catch some new faces in the hoops scene. Below are some June Ball standouts I've had the opportunity to see in person.    High energy and highly impactful player on both sides of the ball. Robles has an impressive three point shot that falls from well beyond the college line. Can shake defenders and finish at the rim. Does very well in transition with his speed blowing past the defense. Rebounds the ball extremely well and is always nearing or accounting for a double double in most games. Robles will have a season that will see him in the discussions for a end of year POY region award.     Piero is a defensive specialist for the Dorados. The speedy guard picks up the length of the court and will match up with the best of them. Can stop on a dime and shift with his opponents. Very dangerous in the paint as he can get up and block shots but its also where he accounts for many steals. Attacks the paint with confidence and can score the ball very well through contact. Fearless and full of confidence. Impressive two way player who impacts the game in a big way.     Moore is arguably the top player at his position in Southern Arizona. A high percentage scorer who has developed an even more lethal shot. Can create space between his defender with ease opening up the shot, but is so skilled and getting to the paint and scoring off the glass. Has an impressive three ball and range.On the defensive end Moore is one of the toughest defenders around. Flat out bully's opposing guards on either end of the court. Moore is a player coaches attending Section 7 Boys Weekend need to have on their list.     Del Rio is one of the more underrated guards in the state. A very high character kid who can flat out play. A sniper from the perimeter off the pass. Tremendous skill with the dribble and footwork to match. Plays well through physicality. A playmaker on both ends of the court. Great vision and continually shows his high IQ for the game. Del Rio helped lead Cienega to a 17-1 regular season last year and will look to have similar success this season. Coaches will get a chance to see Del Rio in the Section 7 Main Weekend where I would expect some interest from high academic programs.     Alday was one of the new faces for me. He showed out leading Rio Rico to a 2-0 day. He will catch and drive from the perimeter and score off a dribble. An athletic wing with a skilled handle. Can space the floor with the three ball. Defensively showed to be an effective shot blocker. Alday can guard 1-4. Has a lengthy wingspan and some good speed to go along to with it. Aggressive and plays physical. Will be a vital piece for Rio Rico this upcoming season.     Bolivar is a terrific on ball defender. Guards the length of the court pressuring and forcing his opponents to play out of their comfort. Very strong motor can just go nonstop. Has incredible speed and pushed the ball in transition very well. Bolivar will beat the defense more times than not in transition for the score. Plays with a pass first style getting his teammates involved but is a very effective scorer. Very impressive showing. Looking forward to seeing Bolivar as him and Rio Rico will compete at the Section 7 Qualifiers.     Ortiz was very impressive. He is showing to be one of the better dribblers in Southern Arizona. Handles defensive pressure extremely well getting through the double team with ease. one of the top passing guards finding the open look and getting the ball to its target. A terrific three point shooter who consistently comes up in clutch situations. Great defender and makes the hustle plays. Will account for multiple charges a game.
