Sincere Smith 5-7- 2030- Mad River Middle School- Team Flyght Future 13u

Sincere made an immediate impact for Team Flyght Future 13u as soon as he stepped on the court. He provided instant offense by knocking down three-pointers, attacking the basket and scoring points in transition. Sincere is the type of player who gives maximum effort to help the team win. He often beat opponents off the dribble and scored baskets through contact. Those scores led to three-point play opportunities from the foul-line. His aggressive approach was inspiring to his teammates. Whenever he made a positive play, his energy seemed to fire up everyone. The team went on a nice scoring run against the Michigan Tarheels. On defense, Sincere gets after it. He played excellent man-to-man defense and forced numerous turnovers. He's an excellent all-around player who has a chance of becoming great with growth and progression.

Allen Weaver 5-8- 2031- Emerson Academy- Team Flyght Future 13u

He's a tough minded guard who plays with extreme confidence. Allen was great at beating defenders to the basket. Most of his scores came off tough drives that led to him being fouled. He calmly stepped to the foul-line and converted a majority of his three-point play opportunities. Allen is an excellent rebounder from the guard position. He attacked the glass with as much ferocity as he did when he looked to score. When Team Flyght Future 13u had a chance to run the floor, Allen showed the ability to finish strong in transition. On defense, he was a ball-hawk. Allen excelled at forcing opposing guards into turnovers and mistakes. He's a really good shooting guard who has an opportunity to be great in the coming years.

Troy Buttrey 6-3- 2031- Powell County Middle School- Team Goose 2031

Troy excelled at scoring in the paint and grabbing rebounds. He effectively achieved this on both ends of the court. There was a moment in the game where he pump-faked his opponent and quickly attacked the basket. I did not expect Troy to have a quick first step. He fooled me with his ability to get around defenders. I viewed him as a post player who was more effective doing work inside the paint. A majority of his scores came from using various post moves against smaller defenders. He was also great at cleaning up the shots his teammates missed. Most of those scores came from grabbing offensive rebounds. Troy also showed the ability to shoot mid-range jumpers. I watched him knock down high percentages of his shots throughout the game. Troy is the ultimate team player! He's the type of person who gave his all to help Team Goose 2031 win games.

Liam Schafer 5-10- Emerson Middle School- Michigan Tarheels 13u

Liam showed the ability to knock down shots from everywhere on the court. Whether it was slashing to the basket, scoring from mid-range or converting three-pointers, Liam found ways to be effective on offense. There was a sequence in the game where he caught fire! He knocked down multiple threes on consecutive possessions. When he drove into the paint, Liam was great at scoring floaters. He effectively scored this shot over taller defenders on numerous occasions. Defensively, he excelled at jumping pass lanes and generating steals. In my opinion, Liam has all the traits of a player who is on his way to becoming a star.

Jakatta Spinks 5-3- 2031- Power Middle School- Michigan Tarheels 13u

Jakatta was awesome! I enjoyed watching this young man play as scorer and facilitator. His ball handling skills allowed him to be an effective passer. Jakatta easily drove around defenders and found teammates in scoring positions. The majority of his assists led to positive outcomes for Michigan Tarheels 13u. He also used the same skills to score the basketball. Jakatta's shot of choice were floaters in the lane. He was able to make this happen on numerous occasions. I had no idea he could shoot until I watched him play the second game. Whenever there was an opportunity to knock down a three, he did so with confidence. Jakatta ultimately finished the game with three conversions from behind the arc. Defensively, he applied great on-ball pressure to opposing guards by using quick hands and great footwork. Jakatta is a promising young player who could make great strides in the game of basketball.
