This year's 4A PH Utah Player of the Year has been exciting to watch over the years, and he is poised to make a similar impact at the college level. Staying in-state, he is headed to Snow College, one of the top D1 JUCO programs in the country. [player_tooltip player_id='1598259' first='Makai' last='Allen'] is undoubtedly among the best pound-for-pound players to come out of Utah.

One of the most important aspects of Allen's game is his motor. Yes, he has skills on offense and defense, but he is a player who is willing to do a lot of the little things on both ends of the court, fueled by his motor. He crashes the offensive glass with aggressiveness, and with his recovery speed, he can gamble. Allen also has the speed and agility to pick up the full length of the floor, and that is where he can cause havoc as he plays and anticipates passing lanes and moves. He can often get in space in transition and finish above the rim, showcasing his elite athletic ability. On offense, he runs a solid PG position, has vision and zip on his passes, and is a player who can change speeds and levels, keeping defenders off balance as he attacks the rim. He can turn to his midrange jumper anytime he wants, as that has been a consistent spot for him. Allen will translate his high school game to the college game.

That is exactly what [player_tooltip player_id='1598259' first='Makai' last='Allen'] is, a dog out there on the floor, and he is very reliable. Allen averaged 21 PPG this season, and he surpassed 1,200 points in his career. He only scored in single digits once this year on his way to capturing the 4A State Championship. Allen was on triple-double watch his entire career. Allen places himself on an elite list of next level players that have come through Provo.
