Best Varsity Performances from Indian Creek vs Christel House

I was thoroughly impressed with his ability to score the ball Tuesday evening. In my opinion, David was the most fluid scorer on the court. He found a variety of ways to generate offense in their match-up against Indian Creek. Whether it was being a leader, knocking down shots, passing or defending, David was the catalyst for the team's success. When he found himself isolated in one-on-one match-ups, David easily drove around defenders and made plays in the paint. Some baskets were scored, others were pin-point assists to other Christel House teammates. As I said, David can score! He knocked down multiple threes, converted shots in the post, attacked the basket and scored points in transition. Defensively, David was great at jumping passing lanes and generating steals. His on-ball defense was top-notch as well. He's a great all around player who should easily adjust to the speed of college basketball next season.     Jayvion was the most energetic player on the court Tuesday night. After watching him play, I was thoroughly impressed by his production on both ends of the floor. He's an aggressive rebounder who attacks the glass whenever he has the chance. Jayvion is the type of player who does everything for the team. If you need him to score, he'll get you a basket. He didn't look to be offensive minded but took full advantage whenever he had a mis-match in the paint. Jayvion showed excellent passing skills. His assists out of double-teams resulted in high percentage shots for his teammates. He did most of his damage by dominating the offensive boards and scoring around the basket. I enjoyed seeing him motivate other Christel House players on defense. I got the impression that Jayvion is the emotional leader of the team. Defensively, he protected the paint and blocked shots. His in game highlight came in the third quarter. Jayvion had a nice two handed slam after he and a teammate ran a flawless pick and roll play.     Dayshawn is an excellent scorer of the basketball. Whether it was getting to the basket, converting shots from mid-range or knocking down three pointers, Dayshawn found ways to be effective within the Christel House offense. He's a great passer who showed the ability to be a play-maker. There were moments in the game where he found teammates streaking to the basket. Most of his assists led to easy scores for other Christel House players. Dayshawn displayed his toughness by attacking the glass on both ends of the court. He's a tough player who didn't mind mixing it up with opposing players in the paint. On defense, he was effective in all areas. He forced turnovers, took charges, fought around screens and blocked shots. Dayshawn is a great shooter who can also defend. These are skills that will allow him to succeed at the college level.     A play-making combo guard who passes first and shoots second. Walker always kept his eyes up when he handled the basketball. He always looked to make the right play. This led to positive outcomes for Indian Creek. His assists continuously found their mark. The majority of his passes were on the money. There was one in particular, where Walker saw a teammate cutting to the basket. He hit him with a precise bounce pass that led to an easy score. Do not be fooled by his passing ability, Walker can score the ball too! He has an excellent mid-range game with the skill to extend his range beyond the three-point line. At any given moment, he could catch fire. I watched him nail multiple shots from beyond the arc. He's a great combo guard who will only get better as he continues to grow and mature.     I enjoyed watching this young man play Tuesday evening. Carter is a player who I would label a “Jack of all trades.” There were no limits to his game offensively. He scored in a variety of ways on the basketball court. It did not matter if he attacked players off the dribble, scored in the post, knocked down mid-range jumpers or converted long distance threes, Christel House had no answers. In some instances, he attacked the paint and scored through contact. This led to numerous three-point plays from the foul-line. I was thoroughly impressed with his agility to run the floor, finish in transition and block shots on defense. Carter is a nice all around player who is capable of making a smooth transition into college basketball.     Jaxon is the type of guard who attacks opponents from beginning til the end of a game. He epitomized how a scoring guard should play. Jaxon has a scorer's mentality that could be valuable to any team. He attacks to the paint, scores tough baskets, knocks down perimeter shots and converts threes whenever shots were available. There was a moment in the game when Jaxon won his one-on-one match-up. He used a host of dribble moves to score on Christel House defenders in the paint. In other moments, he was able to score points in transition. Defensively, Jaxon was great at locking down opposing guards with great pressure on the ball. He finished the game with multiple steals. Jaxon is an awesome two-way player who is a vital piece of the puzzle to Indian Creek basketball.
