We have entered the last stretch of the regular season, which guarantees exciting finishes and offers the stage for prospects to make a name for themselves. The lights are brighter, possessions mean more and the rewards can help change their future. Tuesday's slate of games was loaded and I kept my eye on a handful of contests throughout the evening. Here are the wings and forwards who stood out most to me in my viewings.

The sophomore continues to stack valuable performances with his latest work coming in a win over Archbishop Carroll as the 6-foot-7 southpaw forward registered 14 points (4/8 FG), 12 rebounds and six assists. In a recent viewing of Mbuyamba, I mentioned how well he utilizes his leverage on the block and demands space despite being undersized for a five, but even against the length that Carroll can offer from the wing through their frontcourt positions, nobody could match his physicality down low. He's also an above average passer for his position and did a great job of flashing up to the top of the key as Gonzaga broke Carroll's press where he faced the basket and dissected cutters or teammates fading to the corners before delivering the ball on a string. His awareness as a rebounder and length comes into play tracking ones that are out of his area.

Mt. Carmel suffered a tough loss on the road to a Spalding team that is on a heater, but Mancho still caught my eye not only with his usual activity in the paint, but also his passing as opposing guards dug down whenever he put in on the floor. A lot of times, bigs will operate from the block and dribble one time too many or are slow at anticipating digs/doubles that lead to turnovers. Mancho was quick to attack on his block touches, but also scanned the floor before the catch to know who the open teammate would be on the weak side or anticipate another cutting to the rim as their defender turned their head. The Cameroon native finished with eight points, five rebounds and an impressive five assists.

The older brother of Dave, Allen brings the same sort of presence physically, but more fluidity as an athlete to be featured on the perimeter as a hybrid forward. He's most effective getting downhill and finishing through contact or with time and space, can convert catch-and-shoots from three. He showed a little bit of everything in their win as he led Gonzaga with 20 points on an efficient 6-of-9 from the field, hauled in seven boards and had a couple of steals. A low-maintenance glue guy, Mbuyamba is the type that could impact winning at the college level right away.

Sewell is a big body center with surprising skill and touch. In the public school scene, someone with his frame can dominate the basket if they know how to play big and use their presence to alter actions rather than gamble and completely disrupt them. That's what he did last night in Laurel's overtime win over Wise. He was on the glass with eight rebounds to show for it, scored in the dunkers spot or in rolls following ball screens and on few occasions, made good reads as defender's lost track of their man when he got the ball in the post for assists. Wise, who lacks the size to matchup with a body such as Sewell, certainly felt his presence throughout as he accounted for eight points and flashed some soft touch away from the rim.

There's no question that in terms of upside and potential, Avery is one of the more special prospects in the region with his combination of size, athleticism and versatility. When his motor is running high like it was on Tuesday evening, his impact is felt heavily on both ends. The return of point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1782592' first='Kam' last='Carter'] has benefitted Avery's strengths tremendously as he's now equipped with a savvy playmaker who anticipates lob opportunities or can deliver pocket passes on-target for easy looks. Where his value doubles is defensively as the weak side shot blocker as he has impeccable timing and instincts to avoid contact in the air and draw a whistle before volleyball spiking the lay-up attempt into the stands. Avery finished with 10 points, five rebounds and three blocks against a massive frontline that Mt. Carmel poses.
