2027 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2865242' first='Adrian' last='Whipple'] (Eagle Grove) -- 33 points (13-18 FG, 2-6 3P, 5-5 FT), 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals [at North Iowa]

The 6-2 wing was dominant against North Iowa last week, dropping a 33-point, 11-rebound double-double on highly efficient shooting. The Eagles haven't had a great year, but Whipple, a potent scoring threat, will make them a dangerous team in postseason play.

2026 PF Colson Carson (Ogden) -- 31 points (9-14 FG, 2-5 3P, 11-12 FT), 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block [at Earlham]

Ogden is another school not having a great year, but Carson delivered a memorable performance in one of his final high school games, scoring 31 points on just 14 shots, showing that he can step out and stretch the floor, score around the bucket, and knock down clutch free throws.

2026 SG [player_tooltip player_id='1765548' first='Wesley' last='Walz'] (Spirit Lake) -- 30 points (9-22 FG, 7-15 3P, 5-6 FT), 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 8 steals [vs. Sioux Center]

Yet another team not having a great year but that had a standout performance, Walz buried seven 3-pointers against Sioux Center, helping keep the Indians competitive against a superior team. The seven 3s were great, the eight steals were the cherry on top.

2026 PF [player_tooltip player_id='1765513' first='Ryan' last='Clair'] (Kuemper Catholic) -- 29 points (11-15 FG, 2-3 3P, 5-7 FT), 7 rebounds, 2 assists [at Storm Lake]

In a game featuring a Creighton commit, Clair was arguably the best player on the floor in the game between the 2A #1 Knights and 3A #1 Storm Lake. The 6-5 big man showed deft touch and fantastic footwork on his post touches, as well as the ability to carve out great position on the block. He stepped out and shot it well from the 3-point line, showing some versatility, and made plays for his teammates out of the high post.

2027 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2419787' first='Jake' last='Wegmann'] (Beckman Catholic) -- 29 points (12-19 FG, 3-6 3P, 2-5 FT), 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block [at Alburnett]

In a likely district semifinal preview, Wegmann and the Blazers came up just short against Alburnett, losing 75-72 in overtime. But the most important part of that for Beckman is that Wegmann, an All-State caliber wing, is looking like he's getting back to his usual self after battling through injuries early this season. A 6-5 wing who can score in a multitude of ways, if he's playing like this, the Blazers are capable of making a surprise run.

2026 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2724147' first='Gilbert' last='Flagel'] (Pella Christian) -- 28 points (11-19 FG, 1-2 3P, 5-8 FT), 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 1 block [at Notre Dame]

In a really well-played, fun game against 1A #3 Notre Dame, Flagel helped lead the 2A #10 Eagles to an impressive road win behind his 28 points. Flagel was one of the breakout players in the state over the summer and has carried that momentum into his senior year. His size, length, IQ, and talent are rivaled by few in the class.

2026 PF Hayden Gustafson (Alburnett) -- 27 points (12-13 FG, 3-5 FT), 10 rebounds, 1 steal [vs. Beckman Catholic]

In that same overtime game that Wegmann stood out in, Gustafson was stellar for the Pirates. The 6-3 forward couldn't get much more efficient, missing just one shot in his 27-point, 10-rebound double-double.

2027 PG Connor Shore (Chariton) -- 26 points (12-20 FG, 1-7 3P, 1-4 FT), 11 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal [vs. Clarke]

The 5-10 point guard stuffed the stat sheet against Clarke last week, with an impressive double-double while also dishing out a team-high seven assists. He's a really good athlete who isn't afraid to stick his nose in against bigger bodies on the glass.
