A sharpshooting off-ball guard, Kies was a key piece for a Nikes team that reached the 1A semifinals in March. He buried 55 3-pointers at a 40.1% clip as a junior en route to averaging 10.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, an d 2.0 assists per game. He’s a capable secondary ball-handler and playmaker who figures to have the ball in his hands much more as a senior following the graduation of star guard Shay Stephens.

Kies had 12 points for the Nikes in the win, with his shooting ability allowing them to space the floor a bit and allow for some room for dribble penetration. He made only one 3-pointer in the game, but he was clearly a significant part of the scouting report, because Cal-Wheatland looked to run him off the line whenever they could.
