Sterling MLK Classic: 2027 Combo Guard Watchlist

The Sterling MLK Classic took place Saturday with 12 teams competing throughout the day. The following list are 2027 players who could be slotted into multi-guard roles with ball handling and scoring abilities.    Aggressive attacker the whole game whether in transition or ½ court sets. Has true size for a 1 or 2 spots post high school. Draws contact going to the cup and is solid handling it. Pulled up from mid range jumpers throughout with poised release. Rebounded from the guard spot consistently as well. Possessed a consistent active motor with diverse skill.     Started off the game getting to the rim at will but ball wasn't falling. Kept confidence alive to continue to stick to his game and found his groove. Fast attacker to the cup breaking down defenders. Finds an angle and can really jet. Broke the trapping press solo a couple times for coast to coast lay ins. Splashed in multiple 3 balls on catch and shoot opportunities. Had a tough and1 in traffic off BLOB action. Defensively possessed quick reactions reading a step ahead of play. Plays cohesively with other talented guards. MVP of Game 1 with 20 points.     Provided a spark from beyond the arc against a well established 3 loss 4A team. Plays with pace and found slivers driving as well. Had 3 3's to go along with a baseline floater over more height. Lefty shooting guard can catch rhythm quickly. Finished with team high 11.     Knock down shooter and solid handler. Found his opportunities on the perimeter and took advantage. Tallied 4 3's on the night at an efficient rate. Bought positive movement and activity to find rhythm and flow during 2nd half. Scored team high 20.     Finds advantage in transition to gain primary break opportunities. Solid while handling. Got into a groove from beyond the arc with a hot hand. Knocked down at least 3 3's while getting to the hole at an efficient rate. Will pitch ahead or drop off to open guys when help comes. Works well alongside other talented guards. Had the game high 26 and a win in a hard fought battle.     Makes his impact on the interior with guard like mentality. Had a double double in rebounds and points midway through third finishing with 14 and 10. Is usual for him to be in double digits on the glass averaging around 10 per game. Runs the floor at a solid rate and finds opportunities on the break. Sticks to his role and is a positive asset who competes.
