In reality there is some high level basketball played on the court. Often times it lends to being top heavy in these classes but you can find some really good sleeper talent from small town programs to private schools in big areas.
Class B
Will Reese is looking to take Anacoco back to the state championship and get another title under his belt. He was the overall LHSAA MVP last year. Meanwhile Vision Academy will be playing in Class B as well and are led by Lonnie Johnson.
Anacoco beat the 2 seed Fairview and Brennan Maddox in the semifinals so he'll be looking for revenge this year. As will Midland who lost in the title game to Anacoco. 2017 Trenton Guidry and Hathaway lost to Fairview in round 2 but should be better this season.
Zachary Taylor looks to take Simsboro further than the quarters while the historic Zwolle program would like to bounce back from a 6 seed last season that saw them lose in the quarterfinals. Lane Hartley and Weston went out in the 2nd round last year and that can't sit well.
2019 Larenz Williams is one of the best 2019 players in the state and he'll be playing his high school ball at M.L. King.
