Tarkanian Classic: Early Standout Players

He might be the perimeter compliment this team needs next to star [player_tooltip player_id='2306605' first='Simeon' last='Suguturaga'] to excel in this event. He's shown flashes of scoring bunches throughout the year but hasn't had those popping numbers consistently. He hit a bunch of threes and led the team in scoring in their first Tarkanian Classic appearance vs Carter, TX and got the win. A big scoring outburst and overall offensive carry from Young in their first game led to a relatively comfortable win. He's got great range and doesn't need much space on his shot to get it off. He's a big kid that hasn't been able to make his presence felt as much as he should against local competition so far this season. But he had a fantastic game against Pembroke Pines, FL leading the team in scoring and rebounding. It was a hell of a way to start off the tournament for him. With his frame and another season ahead of him next year, I think this will be a huge weekend for his development. It will also be great to continue to see how he stacks up strength-wise and athletically to different competition. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>All of [player_tooltip player_id='2450656' first='Oscar' last='Keegan'], Beckham Christensen, and Jett Rimando of East High School deserve some praise as well. The whole team played great and these three were leading the bunch. They were able to hold their opponent to less than half of their team's total points. They got them tired with their fast pace of play and once they were up, they never seemed to look back. They all play so well together it's hard to pick just one. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
