Notebook: Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 60 – Session II
The 2018 Class begins their way through the slew of post season events and that started today with the Hoosier Basketball Top 60 Workout. It’s built as a recruiting platform and a chance to those talented individuals to be seen the the All-Star Selection Committee. Here is our notebook from the late session today.
*Matt Krause of West Lafayette was really good today. He showed a lot of what makes him a special player. His versatility and movement along with really good shooting ability. For his size, he’s one of the better inside-out players in the state. Has four quality DIII opportunities and should be close to a decision soon.
*Addison True of Eastern Hancock was a kid we didn’t get to see much of over his career but he impressed today. He’s more physical as a guard and has a slightly compact body that will give him a little more ability to finish on his drives. Really sneaky pickup for Hanover College.
*Christian Wells of Muncie Central had a good day. Still kind of a player without a position but if used well, could be a mismatch at the next level. Can put the ball on the floor and create and has a decent jumper. Would do really well for a DIII program as a mix-and-match forward.
*Steve Miller of Indianapolis Pike is going to be a steal for whoever gets him. He’s really long and athletic but plays with a purpose and has that kind of toughness that is going to impact the game. Could really benefit as a JUCO player to develop more but could play right away at the NAIA level.
*James Burns of Lafayette Jeff was really solid today, too. He’s come into his own in the last year and now with his commitment to Eastern Arizona, the upside in the long term could be huge and he could end up a DII or DI talent. Will be one to track in the next two years.
*Eli Streeval of Morristown is coming off one of the best postseason runs of anyone this year. He’s really locked into what he does well, shoot threes and defend. Surprisingly athletic, it has given him more room to make plays. Should be getting more DIII and NAIA looks.
*Antwaan Cushingberry of Warren Central did what he does best, push the ball and make plays. He’s got quite a bit of offense in his game but I think the pace setting ability and defense are more valuable. He’s got a wide range of places to fit, from DII/DIII/NAIA. Should be getting more looks than he is.
*Brigham Booe of Northview was good today in spurts. His three-point shooting, when set, is really good. He’s had to make more plays with a very, very young high school team around him. Getting him around talent should allow him to focus more on what he does well, being physical with the ball in his hands. DIII/NAIA prospect.
