Breakdown: The 2020 class of bigs is not great but the centers are much better than the power forwards. The breakdown will be much more conducive to the higher end talent and with 14 players listed, that is actually more than the average year. HM-MM (1-2), LM-DII (3), DII-NAIA (4-7), NAIA-DIII (8-14).
With the top end having at least a pair of sure fire DI talent, I think that helps the overall balance of the group. There are a number of guys I believe will make those jumps to help in support of the class, guys like Noah Hupmann, Matt Jones, and Jason Morton. They are also the guys I’m looking forward to see the most.
Another thing of note, the DIII level players here could be better than you would think. Jacob Brown is a fun player and Gavin Dowling is so much better than you would think. Walker McCrary could turn into a legit player as well that can help to space the floor.
Overall, there aren’t many post options for each tier between power forwards and centers but each does has a player or two that is solid. Just not a lot of depth and higher end guys for colleges to lock in on early. It will be interesting to see who, if many, develop this summer and change things up for the center group.
