1. Hillsboro -- With perhaps the best player in the league returning, Hillsboro has a slight edge over its counterparts in the Scenic Bluffs as we enter the 2025-26 season. Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2423204' first='Miles' last='Ravenscroft'] (6-2, 15.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 3.2 apg) is a returning first-team all-league player who played an instrumental role in helping Hillsboro to a 17-8 record under coach Jordan Polk last season. Ravenscroft and senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2953587' first='David' last='Johnson'] (6-3, 6.4 ppg, 9.3 rpg) are returning starters for the Tigers, who welcome newcomers from a 16-6 JV1 team. Also returning is sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2950927' first='Braun' last='Jirschele'] (6-1, 5.0 ppg, 2.4 rpg).

2. Bangor -- Bangor looks to have yet another quality squad with a pair of double-figure scorers back for their senior seasons in [player_tooltip player_id='2423526' first='Hayden' last='Massman'] (6-1, 13.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2824109' first='Brody' last='Edwards'] (6-5, 11.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg). Massman and Edwards form a dynamic duo for Bangor, perhaps the best one-two punch in the Scenic Bluffs. Also back for coach Nick Meacham are seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3018972' first='Dayne' last='Langrehr'] (6-1, 4.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg) and Brodk Daines (6-0) along with junior [player_tooltip player_id='2429735' first='Alex' last='Felch'] (6-0, 4.7 ppg, 2.2 rpg). Quickness and experience are strengths while rebounding and lack of size are question marks.

3. Royall -- Two-time defending league champion Royall will have a new look this time around as just one starter is back from a club that finished 28-1 and lost to eventual WIAA Division 5 state titlist Cochrane-Fountain City in a sectional final. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='2635635' first='Trey' last='Wildes'] (6-1, 10.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg) will need to provide leadership, toughness and increased scoring to keep the Panthers among the elite in the league. Coach Scott Uppena looks for seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3022069' first='Dylon' last='Velazquez'] (5-10, 5.2 ppg, 1.8 rpg), John Muehlenkamp (6-2), [player_tooltip player_id='3022067' first='Brock' last='Pruess'] (6-0) and [player_tooltip player_id='3022070' first='Travis' last='Wehman'] (6-0) along with sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='2779169' first='Braxton' last='Board'] (6-0, 2.8 ppg, 1.6 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2830639' first='Colby' last='Schroeder'] (5-10) to contend for increased roles along with potentially freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2431047' first='Bentley' last='Rozek'] (6-3).

4. New Lisbon -- The Pfaff family is well represented at New Lisbon, to say the least. Coach Jeremiah Pfaff will have three sons on the squad this winter and all three are returning starters from an 11-14 squad. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3021407' first='Carter' last='Pfaff'] (5-10, 7.9 ppg, 1.8 rpg) and Jameson Pfaff (5-8, 3.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg) along with sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='3021402' first='Colby' last='Pfaff'] (6-0, 9.3 ppg, 5.5 rpg) were regulars last winter along with senior [player_tooltip player_id='3021395' first='Josh' last='Homan'] (5-10, 4.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg). Those four players will try to help the Rockets push for an upper-division finish in the Scenic Bluffs. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2948550' first='Sehraj' last='Grewal'] (6-3, 3.6 ppg, 2.8 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='3021405' first='Joseph' last='Asberry'] (5-8, 2.4 ppg) also figure to be key performers for New Lisbon.

5. Brookwood -- Walker Rynes begins his fourth season as the head coach at Brookwood looking for the Falcons to better last year's 5-19 finish. Three starters will pave the way for the Falcons -- senior [player_tooltip player_id='3019211' first='Jackson' last='Cunitz'] (6-0, 9.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg) along with juniors [player_tooltip player_id='3019213' first='Brennen' last='Mack'] (5-10, 7.9 ppg, 2.2 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='3019206' first='Julian' last='Cunitz'] (5-10, 7.0 ppg, 4.1 rpg). That trio should get some assistance from senior [player_tooltip player_id='3019202' first='Gavin' last='Havlik'] (5-10, 4.7 ppg) and junior Louis Gonzalez (5-9, 2.3 ppg).

6. Wonewoc-Center -- With just three league triumphs over the past five seasons, including two last season, Wonewoc-Center has been through some difficult times of late. First-year coach Brad Bolton is hoping to aid in the Wolves' attempt to turn around their fortunes behind the return of three starters, led by top scorer and rebounder [player_tooltip player_id='3023031' first='Cam' last='Thellefson'] (6-4, 17.4 ppg, 8.0 rpg). Thellefson, senior [player_tooltip player_id='3023033' first='Gavin' last='Olson'] (5-11, 8.9 ppg, 6.4 rpg) and junior [player_tooltip player_id='3023032' first='Jack' last='Byrdy'] (6-1, 6.3 ppg, 5.2 rpg) are returning starters from a club that went 4-19. Other key returning players include juniors [player_tooltip player_id='3023034' first='Tommy' last='Roehling'] (5-6, 5.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg) and Tatyn Landsinger (5-6, 6.8 ppg, 4.3 rpg).

7. Cashton -- Another Scenic Bluffs team looking for improvement and with some experience to do just that, Cashton hopes to parlay its team chemistry into wins this winter. Coach Grant Radke will count heavily on seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2815259' first='Trent' last='Kast'] (6-3, 11.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg), [player_tooltip player_id='2635639' first='Drew' last='Butzler'] (6-0, 5.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='3019328' first='Brady' last='Wells'] (5-11, 3.3 ppg) along with sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='3019330' first='Graham' last='Hemmersbach'] (5-10, 6.0 ppg, 3.4 rpg) give the Eagles a solid nucleus. Sophomores Owen Van Ruden (5-11, 2.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='3019332' first='Landon' last='Laufenberg'] (6-0, 1.5 ppg, 2.0 rpg) also figure to be in the mix.

8. Necedah -- A normally strong program landed on some difficult times in 2024-25 as Necedah finished 3-18 under long-time coach Kris Saylor. Now entering his 25th season at the school, Saylor's Cardinals figure to be much improved this time around as six players who earned substantial playing time are back to help restore Necedah's respectability. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3021323' first='Mason' last='Hustad'] (5-10, 4.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg), [player_tooltip player_id='3021324' first='Philip' last='Heintz'] (6-3, 5.4 ppg, 4.2 rpg) and Konrad Borzym (5-9, 2.0 ppg) along with junior [player_tooltip player_id='3021325' first='Elijah' last='Peak'] (5-10, 6.8 ppg, 1.9 rpg) and sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='3029029' first='Luke' last='Murphy'] (6-2, 8.8 ppg, 4.9 rpg) and Mason Bottensek (6-1, 3.3 ppg) give the Cardinals a solid core.

Top Returning Scorers

[player_tooltip player_id='3023031' first='Cam' last='Thellefson'] (Wonewoc-Center) 17.4 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2423204' first='Miles' last='Ravenscroft'] (Hillsboro) 15.8 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2423526' first='Hayden' last='Massman'] (Bangor) 13.5 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2824109' first='Brody' last='Edwards'] (Bangor) 11.0 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2815259' first='Trent' last='Kast'] (Cashton) 11.0 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2635635' first='Trey' last='Wildes'] (Royall) 10.0 ppg

Projected All-Conference Teams
First Team

[player_tooltip player_id='2423526' first='Hayden' last='Massman'], 6-1, Sr., Bangor
[player_tooltip player_id='2423204' first='Miles' last='Ravenscroft'], 6-2, Sr., Hillsboro
[player_tooltip player_id='2824109' first='Brody' last='Edwards'], 6-5, Sr., Bangor
[player_tooltip player_id='2953587' first='David' last='Johnson'], 6-3, Sr. Hillsboro
[player_tooltip player_id='2635635' first='Trey' last='Wildes'], 6-1, Sr., Royall

Second Team
[player_tooltip player_id='3023031' first='Cam' last='Thellefson'], 6-4, Jr., Wonewoc-Center
[player_tooltip player_id='3019211' first='Jackson' last='Cunitz'], 6-0, Sr., Brookwood
[player_tooltip player_id='2815259' first='Trent' last='Kast'], 6-3, Sr., Cashton
[player_tooltip player_id='3021402' first='Colby' last='Pfaff'], 6-0, Soph., New Lisbon
[player_tooltip player_id='3029029' first='Luke' last='Murphy'], 6-2, Soph., Necedah

The Big Five

Best Shooter: [player_tooltip player_id='2635635' first='Trey' last='Wildes'], Royall
Best Defender: [player_tooltip player_id='2423526' first='Hayden' last='Massman'], Bangor
Best Rebounder: [player_tooltip player_id='2953587' first='David' last='Johnson'], Hillsboro
Best Collegiate Prospect: [player_tooltip player_id='2423204' first='Miles' last='Ravenscroft'], Hillsboro
Most Improved: [player_tooltip player_id='2635639' first='Drew' last='Butzler'], Cashton
