NJ Expo Scouting Reports

Good evening, Prep Hoops Fans! My name is Joshua Ebrahim, and I was fortunate to attend the NJ Expo a couple of weeks ago. I was finally able to review all my notes and generate the first part of the NJ Expo summary. It was a competitive atmosphere with a lot of high-end talent. Excited to provide my scouting analysis to help these prospects develop their game and reach the next level. Let's take a look.    Truscott is a high-energy prospect with a relentless motor. Needs to refine his shooting mechanics, specifically centering his shot and aligning his footwork. I view Truscott as a Swiss Army tool; he is an accurate shooter in catch-and-shoot situations and an excellent playmaker. Can play on or off the ball and loves to play in transition. Fearless driving to the basket and has a nice touch around the basket. Like his pull-up game coming off screens and in the mid-range. Has kept adding layers to his game and refining his technique. Tough defender that makes you uncomfortable, doesn't give you space, and contests shots.     Robinson was one of the best players at the expo. Explosive on the court and lightning quick. Took control offensively and was a threat every possession. A great playmaker with great vision that can drive and kick, and set up his teammates with darts for easy buckets. Three level scorer, can play off or on the ball, create his own offense, and is almost impossible to stop when he is going downhill. Good shooting mechanics with a quick release that bodes well with his mid range game. Needs to get more comfortable from the perimeter. Defensively, he can be a shutdown defender. Has all the physical tools and once he enhances his technique and IQ, you won't get much space.     Beverly had an excellent showcase displaying his scoring and passing ability. He is a true floor general with a good handle and protects the ball. Has good shooting mechanics and quick release on his shot, and a silky smooth mid-range game. Can get to the basket with ease and is very shifty with his handle. Really like his floater. Plays a confident brand of basketball.     Musleh was also a standout at the showcase. Another true floor general. Musleh has a great handle and a high basketball IQ. Makes difficult passes look easy and displays elite vision as a guard. Needs to keep playing with intensity and become more of a presence on the boards and as an impact defender. Loves to play fast and play on the break, reads the passing lanes well to create turnovers.     Coleman was another standout who excelled at the expo. Athletic wing prospect that can play shutdown defense and shoot it from the perimeter. He is an excellent rebounder and makes great outlet passes in transition. Can also bring the ball up and run the offense. Excelled in catch and shoot situations. Played well coming off screens and made the right reads in the paint. Should continue adding different ways to create scoring for himself and spacing against more physical defenders.
