I ([player_tooltip player_id='2716510' first='Spencer' last='Goldberg'] ) was able to make it out to the inaugural AZ Hoops JAMboree presented by Marcel Reece at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa.

Here were my Standouts I viewed from Saturday

[player_tooltip player_id='1323290' first='Mason' last='Magee'] – Basha (Pictured)

Fresh off his commitment to the University of San Francisco, Magee put on an impressive performance this weekend. The guard showcased his full skill set, highlighted by his ability to get downhill and attack the rim. Once he beat his initial defender, he displayed excellent touch and creativity finishing in traffic, as well as great vision finding open teammates off the drive. His defensive tenacity stood out as well, forcing multiple turnovers that led to easy transition buckets. Magee's leadership and two-way impact helped guide Basha to the championship game, where they ultimately came up just short against a nationally ranked Millennium squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='2457665' first='Viktor' last='Babic'] – Perry

The 6'7 lefty sniper impressed this weekend with a strong all-around showing. Babic used his length and smooth shooting stroke to rise over defenders and knock down shots from multiple levels. He moves exceptionally well off the ball for an underclassman, constantly finding himself in good scoring positions. Around the rim, he's comfortable finishing with his non-dominant hand and often relies on his soft-touch floater to score over length. His size and instincts also make him an effective rebounder on both ends. Babic played a key role in Perry's big wins throughout the weekend, and this new look Perry group will surprise a lot of people once the regular season tips off.

[player_tooltip player_id='2249943' first='Lleyton' last='Leonard'] – Basha

The strong lefty was super poised throughout the whole weekend at the Arizona HS Jamboree. Leonard showed maturity beyond his years coming off a strong summer season on the EYBL circuit. Consistently, he made the right play over and over again, whether it was to attack off the dribble or settle for the jumper. His strength allows him to absorb contact from defenders and finish. An attribute that sets him apart from his peers is his ability to guard numerous positions; enabling him to guard 1-4. And his poise on the offensive end allowed Basha to have tremendous success this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2506518' first='Azariah' last='Reetz'] – Carl Hayden

The super long big man had an impressive showing this weekend for a tenacious, hard-nosed Carl Hayden squad. His presence was felt on both ends of the floor, especially on defense, where he used his length and timing to alter or block nearly every shot that came his way. Offensively, Reetz excelled in the dunker spot, catching lobs and finishing strong around the rim. He also showed great instincts on the glass, grabbing offensive rebounds for easy putbacks and second-chance points. His touch at the free-throw line was another bright spot, as he converted at a high rate. With his size, defensive impact, and upside, especially as a member of the Class of 2029, [player_tooltip player_id='2506518' first='Azariah' last='Reetz'] is definitely a name to keep an eye on for the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='2291974' first='Nick' last='Reber'] – Highland

The skilled combo guard showed out in some wins against some great teams this weekend. Reber showcased excellent court vision, finding open shooters and making the right play consistently. Off the dribble, he uses crafty moves to create space and elevate for smooth finishes in transition. Defensively, his high basketball IQ allows him to anticipate plays and generate turnovers, giving his team extra possessions. With his all-around skill set and leadership, Reber is poised for a breakout season as Highland looks to make a big leap this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2574815' first='Garrison' last='Bambolo'] – Willow Canyon

Garrison was able to impact the game in a variety of ways for Willow Canyon. His tall, athletic frame allowed him to change the game for Willow Canyon. Whether it was rebounding the ball, defending bigger opponents, or creating energy for his team, he did it all. He was an energy spark for his team. On the offensive end, he was able to get them second-chance opportunities and hit some outside jumpers; this is huge for Willow's dynamic guards as it helps space the floor. Garrison looked good in the jamboree and is in for a big season with Willow Canyon. His interest level from college coaches has picked up and should only continue.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150901' first='John' last='Mattingly'] – Central

As usual, Mattingly was running the show for this talented Central squad. Following his recent commitment to Nevada, he came ready to back it up on the court. One of the highest-IQ players in Arizona, John consistently found his teammates for easy buckets while using smart change-of-pace moves to get past defenders and finish strong around the rim. On the defensive end, he anticipates the offense, positioning himself to create turnovers and disrupt plays. Mattingly has the ability to take over games on his own and will be a key leader as Central looks to make a run at back-to-back 5A titles.

[player_tooltip player_id='2693801' first='Dane' last='Montague'] – Perry

The big man has made rapid strides over the past few months, improving not only his overall game but also his hands and touch around the rim. His size allows him to set powerful off-ball screens, creating open opportunities for teammates, and he keeps the ball high on rebounds to secure possession. On defense, Montague protects the paint effectively, grabbing boards and deterring shots around the basket. With his continued development and a key role on Perry's roster, Dane is due for a breakout season despite some teammates being ineligible in the early part of the season due to transfer rules.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146175' first='LJ' last='Diamond'] – Perry

The hyper-athletic combo guard made a statement all weekend at the jamboree. Diamond attacked downhill with ease, using his quickness, explosiveness, and change of pace to get past defenders and create scoring opportunities. Around the rim, he is extremely crafty, able to finish through contact and elevate above defenders, often leaving defenders flat-footed. Beyond scoring, he shows excellent court awareness, finding open teammates when defenses collapse on him. On the defensive end, his speed and anticipation allow him to disrupt plays and generate turnovers. Diamond's combination of athleticism, skill, and basketball IQ makes him a key factor for Perry's success this season.

I ( Spencer Goldberg Spencer Goldberg 6'2" | SF Arcadia | 2028 State AZ ) was able to make it out to the inaugural AZ Hoops JAMboree presented by Marcel Reece at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa.
