About Sha’kai

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a dynamic combo guard in the Class of 2027, playing for Layton Christian Academy. I can score at all three levels and create plays for others, bringing versatility and control to the backcourt. I combine quick handles, sharp vision, and a smooth jumper with tough on-ball defense, making me a threat on both ends of the floor. Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a competitive mindset and stay locked in on getting better every day. I’m a team-first player who prides myself on playing hard on both ends of the floor and doing whatever it takes to win. I stay composed under pressure, keep a positive attitude, and push myself and my teammates to bring energy and focus every game.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I played on the puma circuit for my sophomore year, junior year looking to play in utah prospect.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed leadership by setting the tone in practice and keeping my teammates focused. Playing point and combo guard has strengthened my communication and teamwork because I have to get everyone involved and keep the game flowing. I’ve also learned discipline, work ethic, and how to stay positive in tough moments, which helps both on and off the court.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a strong basketball program that will challenge me to grow as a player and a person. I want a competitive environment with great coaching, good academics, and a team culture that values hard work, discipline, and winning.
