Midwest Cincy Fall League Guard Standouts

Wortham can finish above the rim with some layups where he was hanging in the air and avoiding rim protectors. I liked that Wortham showed the ability to finish with either hand at the rim, a key skill for an athletic guard that wants to get downhill. Scott shot the ball with confidence on the wing and had a nice baseline mid-range shot in the game I caught. Also getting a couple of interior buckets, Scott had a scoop layup and scored off a steal as well. Slavens made simple shots off the catch and moved without the ball to generate open looks. When the defense collapsed Slavens can make the simple pass. It was the opposite for Chappel on Sunday morning with a handful of unselfish transition assists to players running the court. Making the right basketball play goes a long way and Chappel did that. The lefty was quickly catching and shooting the basketball and was even making shots against hard closeouts.
