Sophomore ID Camp -DEFENSE AND HUSTLE PLAYS

<p>There's nothing greater than seeing players at a showcase lock in on the defensive end of the floor or make hustle plays and put it all out there physically. That tells me that a player is a winner and has a part of their game that is always transferable to the next level. He was disciplined and locked in every time I saw him. Goff was talking on D while shutting off driving angles with anticipation.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Dickerman was willing to put it all on the line at the Sophomore ID Camp. I'd be surprised if he didn't walk away with skinned knees or floor burn. In fact, Dickerman literally hit the ground for a loose ball ON THE FIRST POSSESSION OF THE CAMP.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Dykstra definitely stood out. He was playing physical hustle basketball every time I saw him play. Dykstra had a no possession off afternoon.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Rebounds are often effort plays. That was the way that Hinkle dominated the glass, especially offensively. He just wanted it more and was willing to put in the extra hustle and effort.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Goodnough was solid both with his defense and with his hustle. They almost fed each other. Goodnough kept a good defensive base and used his strength to alter a ball handlers path.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Jimenez definitely caught my eye. I'd say that he was one of the most influential defenders in the gym. He made a living protecting the rim at the camp. Jimenez had multiple blocks and altered a ton of shots with his post presence. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Colbert proved to be a high level defender. He was a nuisance for the offense at the camp,. Colbert locked in on the perimeter and used quick feet to shut his man down and limit options.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Underwood displayed dominant perimeter defense. He consistently shut his man down and forced the ball out of their hands. When a coach seeks me out to tell me that Underwood might be the best defender in the gym, that tells me something.</p>
