Evaluations: Team 1 at Freshman Showcase

Skillful guard, who has good handles and isn't in a hurry with the ball in his hands. Was particular impressively with a move during 3 on 3 play. Came to a two foot stop on a drive, which left two defenders jumping out the play. He then spun away and laid it up for an easy two. Long term, Teshaye's potential ceiling will be based on how much more explosive and quicker in his movements. As he's already quite fluid, but as his body naturally fills out will he become quicker and stronger to make his moves with more suddenness?     Lindsey has range that extends comfortably to a few steps beyond the high school three point line. Currently more of a spot up specialist, but did have a good finish when attacking a close out. Shooting is always a good trait to build on as a player progresses.     Versatile wing, who can help out on the glass and with some playmaking. Was impressed with a slip pass out of a baseline drive. Could possibly earn early minutes for his small school program, as part of an intriguing freshman class.       Guard who plays with good balance and pace when attacking. Mixed up either taking it all the way himself, with a soft finishing touch. Or slipping passes to teammates after drawing a crowd. Liked the heads up play and awareness of the Yukon youngster.     Strandmark can fill it up from distance. And that should be an early ticket to contributing for the 4A contending Commandos. He can provide crucial floor spacing to let his talented junior class attack the rim. But don't pigeon hole him as a shooter only down the road. He was consistently effective off the dribble as a driver. Complete with some trickiness to his ball handling.       The eastern Oklahoma standout played big on both ends of the floor. Did the dirty work with putbacks around the rim. Even blocking and altering shots on the defensive end. Patient as a driver, using his strength to his advantage. Hit a nice step through school, where he used a defenders' over aggressiveness to then finish at the rim.       A scrappy wing, with a gritty mindset. Is disciplined and competitive on the defensive end. Even fighting for rebounds. That approach will serve him well as his basketball journey goes to the high school level. Hit shots when left open, and his form is solid. But will need to speed up his release as the game speeds up in high school and beyond.     High upside prospect as one of the tallest players at the camp, with the athleticism to match. Did a good job of understanding his role of playing around and finishing well. Has the athletic profile that even if he's done growing, could transition to more of a perimeter player. But will need to improve handling, as did see him turn it over after trying to push it himself.   Right now is at a stage where he should grab a defensive board, pitch it ahead, then run the floor hard. As smart guards will reward him, or he'll be there to clean up any misses on the offensive glass.
