The rising 2028 class in Kansas is set to take center stage this season, with several emerging names poised to make an impact -- some stepping into key roles, while others look to become primary options for their respective programs.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='2401742' first='Tamarien' last='Moore'] | 6'3" Guard | Campus | Team One of Us

Tamarien possesses all the tools of a high-level scoring guard. With his impressive size, length, and athleticism, he consistently creates mismatches for defenders. Offensively, he showcases a polished and versatile skill set -- knocking down shots from the perimeter with consistency and showing confidence in his pull-up game. Moore is equally dangerous attacking the basket, where he finishes through contact with either hand and uses his body control to score in traffic. His ability to score at all three levels makes him a tough cover, and as he steps into the role of primary offensive weapon at Campus, he's primed for a breakout sophomore season. Expect him to put up big numbers and make a major impact.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='2820782' first='Greg' last='Stiger'] | 6'0" Guard | Derby | [program_tooltip program_id='2078454' first='KC' last='Run GMC']

A premier shooter, Greg has a natural scorer's mentality and doesn't hesitate to hunt his shot -- especially in transition, where he thrives. He gets his feet set quickly and stays ready, showing a strong understanding of offensive movement and spacing. Stiger excels in catch-and-shoot situations but is also developing as a slasher, becoming more effective at getting to the rim and finishing through contact with strength and control. Defensively, he's made noticeable strides, embracing the challenge of guarding the ball and disrupting opposing guards. His defensive pressure often leads to deflections and turnovers, which he quickly turns into scoring opportunities in transition. As his all-around game continues to round out, Stiger is positioning himself as a complete two-way threat.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='2820771' first='Baron' last='Marshall'] | 6'4" Wing | Blue Valley Northwest

Baron may be the best overall athlete in the state, and he puts that athleticism to work on both ends of the floor. Defensively, he's a true disruptor -- constantly applying pressure on the ball, jumping passing lanes, and racking up deflections and turnovers with his quick hands and anticipation. In transition, Marshall shines. He runs the floor with purpose, exploiting advantage situations and finishing plays with authority at the rim. He's also a relentless offensive rebounder, consistently creating extra possessions with his timing, effort, and physicality on the glass. Offensively, he's more than just a finisher -- Marshall has developed a reliable in-between game, using floaters and touch shots to score over defenders when attacking the paint. His impact is felt everywhere on the court, and his continued development could make him one of the most complete players in the region.

2. [player_tooltip player_id='2820764' first='Keenan' last='Poulsen'] | 5'11" Guard | Bishop Miege | VWBA Elite

Keenan is a poised, unselfish leader who thrives as a true floor general at the point guard position. He has a natural feel for creating offense -- consistently finding seams in the defense and forcing rotations with his aggressive yet controlled playstyle. His vision and timing stand out, especially in drive-and-kick situations where he delivers passes that put teammates in ideal scoring positions. Offensively, Poulsen is far from one-dimensional. He boasts a deep scoring arsenal that includes a crafty finishing package around the rim, a polished mid-range game, and a smooth, efficient perimeter shot with solid range. He's comfortable playing with pace, making quick reads, and adapting to defensive coverages. His blend of IQ, skill, and leadership will be crucial to his team's success -- and he's more than ready for the challenge.

1. Brendan Barrett | 6'1" Guard | Lawrence Free State | VWBA Elite

Barrett is unquestionably the top player in the class. A complete lead guard, he brings a rare combination of scoring ability, playmaking instincts, and advanced skill. He can score from all three levels with consistency -- whether it's knocking down threes off the catch or dribble, pulling up in the mid-range, or finishing through contact at the rim. His handle is elite for his age, showcasing a variety of quick-twitch changes of direction that allow him to break down defenders and create space. Brendan is also a high-level shot creator, comfortable operating in tight windows and using physicality and body control to generate clean looks. As a playmaker, he reads defenses well, constantly surveying the floor and delivering timely passes. His fluid shooting mechanics, confident approach, and ability to control tempo make him a dynamic presence and the clear-cut top prospect in this class.

The rising 2028 class in Kansas is set to take center stage this season, with several emerging names poised to make an impact -- some stepping into key roles, while others look to become primary options for their respective programs.
